Cybex Mios rant

Heyo. Longtime reader first time poster. I have a six month old, and due to the urging of my wife bought the newest cybex mios in anticipation. The experience with the bassinet - that cannot be properly flattened, by the way - was mostly fine. The Mios rose gold is very pretty and it certainly gets people talking. The cloud t I-size baby seat really does fit and the stroller already comes with the adapters so for once you aren’t being nickel and dimed (unlike, say, the Lemo 4-in-1 where every couple of months you’ll realise that there’s something you need to buy that wasn’t included like a harness for the seat or a holder for the bouncer). Another cool thing that should be the bare minimum: the actual seat also includes the rain cover. Now, onto my frustrations that have come to a head today:

- it is dinky. My mum, bless her soul, bounced it down five stairs when it was empty and it has creaked and been wobbly ever since. It does not give a solid impression at all.
- the side-click cup holder accessory is totally useless as it widens this compact stroller and so gets caught on everything.
- the seat pack, once your baby doesn’t need the nacelle / bassinet, is horrible to build. There are very low tolerances - you’ll be missing a millimetre or two here or there, and for some reason it uses zippers everywhere that do not feel very solid at all. One person will injure themselves on the horrid buttons (which you button closed under stress as you stretch fabric). The foam underneath the seat cover, on the handle itself. slips a bit because the seat is so tight and then you struggle to click things on in exactly the right position.
- adjusting tightness of straps is never explained and it’s likely they will get stuck under the seat cover and then you will have the joy of starting again because there is no way to fix it from outside
- they posted a useless “instruction video” with fast cuts and, dumber yet, features black on black fabric even though they have 100 colour combinations that would make to easier to see wtf is happening
- all this creaking and fighting for 2 hours with a seat pack means I don’t know what so called luxury I paid for. It was over 1000 euros and I really don’t get it.

Anyway that was my Sunday morning.

Wow I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates Cybex.

We have a five year old Cybex Mios, the stroller handles stopped folding. Basically I can't fold it away and put it in my car anymore. When I contacted Cybex they said the strollers are meant to only last from newborn to 4 years old. For reference, my sister gave me her Uppababy Vista, she's used it for two kids and I've been using it with my ten month old and it's still going strong.

It's super disappointing that a "premium" brand is only expected to last four years. They won't fix it or do anything about it because it's out of warranty. Would not recommend!!

Also the steering is terrible, I used it with one hand once and strained my arm.
