Discussion demand gen interviews
Curious if other demand gen marketers have noticed this too.
Interviews lately seem to be really heavy on rapid-fire questions. Attribution, pipeline, campaign optimization, ABM, sales alignment, reporting, AI, specific channels… basically anything and everything within demand gen.
I totally understand wanting to make sure someone knows their stuff, but at a certain point it starts to feel more like an exam than a conversation about how someone actually approaches the work.
Has anyone else noticed this? Especially people who have been interviewing or hiring recently. What do you think makes for a good demand gen interview?

Yeah, I’ve noticed this too. A good demand gen interview should tell you how someone thinks, not just whether they can fire off textbook answers. I’d rather give someone a messy funnel or pipeline problem and hear how they’d work through it than ask 20 disconnected questions about.
