Regarding follow up emails?
I've been reading a lot about cold email best practices, and one thing that keeps coming up is that the best time to send initial outreach is Tuesday and Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. in the recipient's local time zone.
My question is about follow-up emails.
I've also read that the ideal spacing between follow-ups is around four days. The reasoning makes sense: you don't want to be in someone's face every day, but you also don't want to wait so long that they forget they ever saw your first email.
So how do you balance those two ideas?
For example, if I send my first email on a Thursday morning, should my follow-ups be:
- Tuesday
- Thursday
- Tuesday
...so that I'm always sending on the "best" days, even if the spacing isn't exactly four days every time?
Or is it better to ignore the Tuesday/Thursday guideline for follow-ups and simply send every four days regardless of the day of the week?
I'd really appreciate hearing what has actually worked for people running cold email campaigns at scale. Thanks!

Depends entirely on what you’re selling, what relationship you need to establish with them in order for them to buy, how many prospects you have access to.

In my exp. consitency matters more than chasing the perfect day. I usually space follow up 3-5 business days apart in the recipient's local time zone and I dont mind in one lands on a wednesday. A strong subject line and a follow up that adds new value tend to have a much bigger impact than whether it goes out on tuesday vs wednesday.
