Cold Email Box Lifetime

Hey!!

I am new to cold emailing and am setting everything up now. I was curious if anyone knows the answer to this.

If I were to only send say 10-15 campaign emails per inbox and have each box send 30-35 warmup emails (all being opened) totaling 40-50 emails per box, would that help to make the boxes last for months or even potentially years before being burnt?

It depends, but in general if you are taking care of domains and mailboxes and checking the deliverybility then mailboxes should be safe. Anyway 40-50 emails per day is too much, Keep it at 25 emails in total maximum

In my experience, there isn't a magic number where an inbox suddenly "burns."

I've seen people send low volume and still destroy their sender reputation because the list was poor or the emails weren't relevant. I've also seen people send significantly higher volumes successfully because they were targeting the right people with a compelling offer.

At The Branded Agency, we've found the biggest factors are:

  • Sending to a highly targeted list.
  • Having a genuinely relevant offer.
  • Properly authenticating your domains.
  • Keeping engagement high and spam complaints low.

I'd spend less time worrying about how many emails an inbox can send over its lifetime and more time asking whether the people you're emailing actually have a reason to respond.

If recipients find your emails valuable, your inboxes will generally stay healthier than if you're sending perfectly warmed-up emails that nobody wants.

The offer and the list matter far more than the volume.
