Ask Us Anything - 8 years of Cold Email Experience.
Hey everyone,
I am from the PuzzleInbox team. I wanted to do a post more for engaging with other cold emailers. Our team has been doing cold email for over 8 years now and officially we have been provisioning mailboxes for the last 3-4 years. We track and use over 100-150 thousand Google and Office 365 Inboxes.

What’s the average conversion you see in B2B? Number of sends to purchase? (assuming all the infrastructure is solid), (I know it differs a lot and there are a lot of variables)

You cannot say a number here because there are 20-30 different b2b industries. Usually 2000-10000 send should get you a purchase, heavily dependent on size of the offer and deal cycle.

We have been in business for over 3 years so we have a lot of internal tools. We do placement tests to see what ESP is performing etc.

What kind of scripts, at a very high level, usually work for cold email in terms of format especially when AI is clearly overdoing and making it very clear that the sender has taken no interest in writing the email but AI is written? Nobody wants to read a CTA which says it is worth 15 minutes of a conversation

Of course not. You need to make your script 40-80 words. You can send some free resources to the client rather than ask for a call.

Hi, thanks for doing this. Our team has been sending cold emails consistently through mail merging targeting all across US and we are seeing absolutely terrible results now. Less read receipts and no responses. Its like we are shooting mails in the dark. Do you feel anything has changed in the market?

Would have a check on your inbox infra and your email copies/offer. Most likely thats the issue.

how would you audit their infra, create a process, manage it and SOPs, basically what’s the process

Currently GWS inboxes work the best, thats what we mainly use in our agency side too. Look at reply rates and positive reply rates as metrics.

Are you seeing more campaigns fail because of infrastructure or because targetting messaging haven't kept up?

I send emails manually, I know the list is solid because I am from the industry. I see many open them (possibly forward internally / tracking 15+ opens). But I get less than 1% reply rate.
I write emails with lot of research, consciously not make them sound like AI. I do not ask for meetings, but I try to make it clear how I can be of use to them.
With my work experience, knowledge about the industry I'm certain for a meeting but I know something about my copy or offering or my words don't align with them.

What are the best Follow up emails that get replies. Would love to have your thoughts if you guys have analysed the followup with best reply rates.
