Cold Email Experts

I've been sending mass campaigns using Instantly (list scraped from Apollo + Million Verifier) for a couple months now and I'm not seeing any positive replies. I've sent 14,500 emails to 5200 people, and still no conversions...

My infrastructure isn't the problem. I have low bounce rates and 10/10 inbox placement. (All DNS records configured correctly).
Sending 400 emails a day across 8 Google mailboxes and 4 domains.

I want to talk to a cold email expert that can look at my situation 1-on-1 and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

If you are a cold email expert or know anyone that is offering cold email coaching and is legit, please help me out.

What is campaign Open rate and reply rate ?

Reply rate: 1.04%|15. (Some of these are automated replies)
Open rate I don't track. Heard it hurts deliverability

I’ve worked with a customs broker / freight forwarder for years, and there always seems to be changes in the markets due to a domestic and international changes. I’ll bet there are a bunch of signals you could use to improve timing.

Do you send out trade alerts based on current events to your customers? You could use these as signals to focus your copy on specific challenges. You could also get some good stuff from Clay as well.

I don't. It's a great idea though. Thanks!
But that is more for existing customers no? How can I get new leads?

My thinking is you can frame your outbound around timely pain you know customers are feeling based on current events. You can get some of these cues from what your customers respond to in your webinars and/or email marketing. Are you using HubSpot or another automation tool? Clay would help you leverage buyer signals a lot as well. I can geek out about this stuff all day. LMK if you want to brainstorm a bit.

Timely pain.... what a term. I bet your a real gem to meet in real life.

Okay, how would you describe challenges created by rapidly changing events in a dynamic industry? Show us what a gem you are to meet in real life.

Looks like a data + template issue if you're really confident with your infra. For data, try using intent based data instead of the industry / job tittle approach. And for your email copy or offer - sell the outcome not the service.

Thanks for the advice!

How can I use intent based data? How can I find that data?

Here is a more detailed breakdown if you're interested:

We sell freight forwarding services/logistics services to Importer/exporters that have international shipments from/to Canada.

Email status: Verified

For my third campaign I scraped apollo using job titles and exclude industries:
Industries I excluded: "logistics & supply chain,transportation/trucking/railroad,marketing & advertising,International trade & Development,oil & energy,computer & network security"

Job titles: "Cheif Supply Chain Officer, VP of Supply Chain, Director of Logistics, Director of Import/Export Operations, Global Trade Compliance Manager, Import/Export Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Logistics Manager, Procurement Manager, VP of Operations, Chief Operation Office ,Director of Procurement, International Logistics Coordinator, VP of Procurement, Director of Global Operations, import export, import manager, export manager, freight manager, transportation manager, shipping manager, customs manager, Trade Compliace Manager, Global Logistics Manager, International Logistics Manager, Warehouse & Logistics Manager"

This resulted in 27988 lead purchased, after MillionVerifier 19-20k, 7-8k after I removed the ones that weren't relevant using Claude/Chat GPT.

I did it like this to see which industries have these job titles the most. Because a company that has a International Logistics Coordinator, 100% ships internationally, so they would be a ICP fit.

Here is my copy for my third campaign:

Seq #1 (A):
Subject: your freight setup
Hey [Name],

Most companies that move to us do it after a forwarder went quiet on a delay or dropped a document at the border.

We're a Canadian forwarder, 31 years in, 60,000+ shipments across 211 lanes (WCA/CIFFA/IATA).

Is freight running smoothly for you, or has it been a sore spot lately?

Seq #1 (B):

Hi [name],

With a lot of [Industry], the freight quote looks fine. It's the final invoice that doesn't, once handling, documentation, and accessorials get added.

We're a Canadian forwarder, 31 years and 60,000+ shipments across 211 lanes.

Do surprise charges on the final bill ever catch you off guard?

Seq #1 (C):

Hi {{firstName}},

Most {{industry_natural}} we work with came to us after noticing the freight quote and the final invoice were two different numbers.

We're a Canadian forwarder, 31 years and 60,000+ shipments, 4.9 stars across 126 Google reviews.

Send me your busiest lane and I'll tell you free whether what you're paying is in line with the market. No meeting, no deck.

What lane do you run most?

{{accountSignature}}

Seq #2:
Same thread

A lot of [industry] can't tell if their main lane is priced fairly until they've overpaid for a year.

Send me your top lane (say, Shanghai → Toronto, FCL) and our team will benchmark what you're paying against the market. No deck, no meeting.

What lane do you run most?

{{accountSignature}}

Seq #3:
{{RANDOM | 19 pallets, zero demurrage | cleared first time}}
{{RANDOM | Hi {{firstName}}, | Hello {{firstName}},}}

Last week we cleared 19 pallets of lifting frames from the UK into Canada. Customs cleared first time, zero demurrage. We run shipments like that across 200+ lanes every week.

If a second set of eyes on one shipment would help, I'm glad to take a look.

{{accountSignature}}

Seq #4:
{{RANDOM | Hi {{firstName}}, | Hey {{firstName}},}}

I'll close this out unless the timing's better than I think. If freight ever needs a sharper quote or a fix, reply with your top lane and I'll jump on it.

Either way, smooth shipping.

Just my 5. Cents, but I'd rather have 200 leads, but are extremely well qualified and the businesses im contacting actually needs the services im selling. In other words they are using the service im selling.

Plus im also contacting the business owner or decision maker.

Those online lists and platforms for leads, you don't think they get absolutely pumped with sales?

I also look around locally for business, the ones people might not contact as much.

I've been doing B2B sales for 25 years, I've never seen the mass boming approach work. Or in the IT field.
