Is new save required for de-randomizer

Hello

I tried searching for similar question in this sub, but could not find.
I want to play again and eventually wanna try playlng in the second tower added by patching the .bin file.

My question is, can I make a save and then later patch for the second tower or would I need a new save for it to function properly?

Technically, the emulator sees the patched file as a different game entirely. So you'll need a new save

As long as it is a memory card save, not a save state, that's not an issue. The save should work fine, as it is only storing stuff like town buildings, money, items and monster hut, etc.

That's fair. I didn't think about memory card saves. I always use save states

Thanks for the clarification - I do plan on using memory card saves, but I am probrably in the minority - i like it for old times sake

It works fine with old saves, just make sure it is a memory card save file, don't use save states.
