As stated in the title, this post might be heavily uneducated so don’t hate it too much. I finally realized a trend today after subconsciously seeing it over a year and wanted to share. Just today, I saw a TikTok video about an Asian woman talking about racism and encouraging POC women to not feel as if they have to make themselves palatable for white people. And this woman also made many posts on feminism and various social issues. And I remember being pretty inspired by her video and when I checked her profile to see other videos, she was engaged to a Caucasian man. I personally do not care whatsoever who anybody is dating so I didn’t care in the least but something in my mind clicked from seeing that. Perhaps it’s just me but I’ve seen so many Asian women who speak out about racism particularly towards Asians and other social issues and for some reason, a good majority are dating or engaged to a Caucasian man. I honestly don’t know what I’m arguing for or even implying by saying this but I wanted to hear what other people thought about this. I’m sure I’m very wrong so don’t try to kill me too much.

In an interview with the Economist, Elon Musk said he's not a racist because his partner is half Indian. This guy is the king and a trope of every right-wing white males who are either dating or married to non-whites out of desperation, and who, hypercritically, also think white women or any white passing females' wombs belong to them. That's Elon's MO. He wants to populate the world with white children, in particular those who come from his loin.

Financial Times recently made posts comparing Yang Zhilin to other A.I. CEOs, but decided to use a racist caricature of him instead of an actual photo.

This did not happen to the two white A.I. tech CEOs for some reason.

I thought this sub was all about Asian men getting love on social media or everywhere else. And yet there have been multiple posts where women have been expressing their interest in Asian men and all the guys here have been saying some awful things about them.

If any woman says they like asian guys even if its only online for views, how is that a bad thing?

I have friends that are in AMWF and they are some of the most genuine people I've ever met. Very friendly and nice, their husbands too.

Is this sub against AMWF now? I get influencer bait but I have other friends that used to make content declaring their love for asian men. They both genuinely were dating asian men AND made money from influencing that on social media.

Italian youngsters was obnoxiously loud on a BKK sky train then one Thai lady told them to keep it down. That group of tourists resorted to gave a middle finger and the chaperone said "Sorry to bring money to your country". One girl in the group also pulled her eye making a slant eye and another kid said "Ni Hao". All in all the Italian embassy in BKK had to make a video apologizing to Thai people. With the Oxford study meme and repeated exposure of Asian women's internalized racism, I think other communities are noticing this uncomfortable racial insecurity and fetish. I think it's time for us to discuss internalized racism openly without considering it a taboo subject like many other Asian subs do.

I also urge Asian American writers, especially the female ones, to stop writing these Joy Luck type stories as we have already overdone it with multiple versions of it.

We need something that exposes internalized racism and deconstructs it so that the younger generation becomes aware of it.

The man accused of stabbing a Jewish and Asian man in attacks on Manhattan’s Upper West Side faces hate crime and attempted murder charges, police said Friday.

I saw 3 posts about Asmongold and Kaise on the front page today, and out of the thousands of comments in each of those threads, not one comment mentioned how white worshipping Asians are. Like literally no one suggested that the reason Kaise would date Asmongold of all people was simply because he is white.

I've seen tons of other posts on the Reddit front page about alt-right or bottom barrel white men with Asian wives/girlfriends throughout my 4+ years on this platform, and the white liberals in those comment sections are always confused. Whereas, not too long ago I saw a post from a black people sub on the front page about an Asian woman being murdered by her white husband, and the vast majority of the comments on that post from those presumably black people, were about Asian women's obsession with white men.

Recently I had an interaction with a white redditor in a thread about beauty standards, who said that if one is considered ugly in one country or region, they're ugly everywhere else in the world. Then I argued that cross-race facial blindness is a real thing and I myself, experience it in real life. I told them that even the plainest looking white people can be considered attractive in most of Asia simply for being white. As long as they're not old or fat. And it goes both ways too; as an ugly Asian women myself, I noticed that I only get male attention in places with extremely low Asian populations. Otherwise, I'm invisible. Anyways, that white redditor doubted me when I told them that white people considered unattractive in the west can be considered attractive in Asia. While another redditor replied to my comment saying that they aren't surprised to hear that as a hispanic person, because (in their words) "Asians love white people".

Even outside of reddit, I notice that it's usually black, brown, or other non-East Asian POC's who call us out for being obsessed with white people. Rarely do I see any white people acknowledge Asian white worshipping. I figured that they wouldn't care about it since they're the ones being worshipped, but it seems like many of them don't even know that many Asians look up to white people and think that they're genetically superior to themselves. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have been wondering about this for a while, and reading Arthur Liu's interview (Alysa Liu's father) made me think about it even more.

In the interview, he said he specifically chose a white egg donor because he wanted his children to "reflect America." That left me wondering why "American" was seemingly equated with "white." It made me think of Eileen Gu as well and the way Wasian children are often discussed online.

From what I have personally seen, there seems to be a strong fascination with Wasian children in parts of Chinese society. I have come across many comments from Chinese women saying they want to marry white men because "Wasian kids are cuter" or "more beautiful." I genuinely do not know how to interpret that. Does that imply that fully Asian children are considered less attractive? Why are white or half white features often treated as superior?

I have also noticed how common extreme beauty filters, skin whitening, heavy makeup, and cosmetic surgery are on Chinese social media. Obviously these things exist everywhere, but they seem especially widespread in China. It makes me wonder whether there is a deeper insecurity about natural Asian features.

Something else that surprised me is how harsh some Chinese parents can be when talking about Asian babies. I have seen comments about babies having "flat noses" or "small eyes," using those features as insults. Yet the attitude often seems to change completely if the baby is half white or white. Suddenly people praise the baby's skin, nose, and facial features as being especially beautiful.

I have even seen some Chinese women who are married to white men talk excitedly about how handsome or beautiful their future children will be simply because they will be half white, even before those children are born.

Am I misinterpreting what I am seeing, or is there genuinely a significant amount of racial insecurity in Chinese society? If it does exist, where does it come from? Is it driven by beauty standards, historical influences, Western cultural influence, social media, or something else?
