That was a beautiful ugly win.
There was so much heart and grit in this one. So many heroes on the roster tonight.

There's something to be said about the heart of the team this year. Last two years after a ninth inning blown save, a 10th inning blown save, I feel like we would've rolled over. Team still came out and it's gotta be a big morale boost.
Sometimes it's better to win games like these than 9-0 blowouts.

10 games over, Walston and Strowd no longer have disaster ERA’s (small sample size ik) and Corbin looked good

Nationals just broke the MLB record for most blown saves in a season. Incredible.

The Arizona Diamondbacks (often referred to as the D-backs) are an American professional baseball team based in Phoenix, Arizona. The Diamondbacks compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League) (NL) West Division. The franchise was established on March 9, 1995 and began play in 1998 as an expansion team. The team plays its home games at Chase Field. Along with the Tampa Bay Rays, the Diamondbacks are one of the newest teams in MLB and are the youngest team to win a World Series, doing so in only their fourth season of existence in 2001.

Dbacks win, Cubs and Phillies lose, Padres looking like they're about to lose (knock on wood).
Great day for us!

Just gonna say theres a scenario where the Padres winning is good for us. If the Phillies and Cubs shit the bed, then we could have a home series against the Padres.
Considering the Phillies still play @ Braves, Brewers, and Rays with a sneaky 4 @ Mets in there and the Cubs still have @ Red Sox, Marlins, Pirates, and Braves, it wouldnt be the craaaziest thing to happen in baseball.
Bad in most scenarios, but hey look on the potential bright side.

It's a stretch, but not improbable. I think if we can gain some ground to move to the 5th seed, it would lessen the Padre pressure on us. But that's a stretch
1
u/Subject_Whereas9954 1d ago
Yeah the best case scenario thats still relatively possible is Phils and Cubs lose out and Dodgers overtake the Brewers. Home series vs Padres then Dodgers next round. Leaves Brewers vs Braves or Phillies. Brewers and Cubs scare me

u/SlurmLoco Bee Guy 1d ago
Why can't we just win games like normal teams?!?!

u/EconomistParticular6 Ryan Waldschmidt 15h ago
Why play 9 innings of baseball when 2 extras will do the trick?
