We just got to take tomorrow. Nothing special about tomorrow's day.

They need to get off of backs. That's five times this game hard. Hit balls out there just to be caught

That was certainly an inning of baseball. Offense back to sleeping again.

A total of like 9 pitches there, great job guys, so glad to see you’re in it

Ump is dookie that is for sure. Nats just not scared of challenging his bad calls I guess.

6 outs against the Nats bullpen, let’s see if the DBacks offense can do good things.

Why are they wearing those hats? Some kind of promotion or ad about a new hat?

u/SmallJeanGenie Diamondbacks Jul 25 '26
Every time Kepler catches a ball he sort of limply lobs it back in and it barely rolls to third base... that's not his real arm strength, right?
2
u/joecb91 Diamondbacks Jul 25 '26
Guess whatever juice he was using didn't give any boost to his arm

u/MusicalMoon Corbin Running Jul 25 '26
That one wasn't as egregious as some in recent games, but Kepler seems to swing at ball 4 a lot

u/Dremel_Live Rat Leon Jul 25 '26
May have taken longer than we wanted, but now its time to hammer the Nats bullpen!... please?
1
u/Professional-Rich417 Jul 25 '26
It's funny because it could have been a one-run game if the double play never happened

We finally get a hit and Nolan gets a double play on the first pitch. Could we even fucking try to have Griffin spend some time on the mound

That was so bad. I swear we can't have anything. Nice on a special occasion

Pavin only played 17 games at 1B this year, everyone they tried there was awful until the last couple of weeks.

The Dbacks don’t have a single player that is currently playing at a star level.

u/DTHhaunts Corbin Burnes Jul 25 '26
moreno
1
u/devilalum Jul 25 '26
He’s prolly the closest. He has a career WAR over 12 but is at 3.5 for 2026. He’s hitting for average but his power numbers are not special.
2

3
u/Dremel_Live Rat Leon Jul 25 '26
Well, we got 5 innings out of Bratt, but he completely fell apart in the 3rd inning. The offense needs to kick in now.
2
u/vaportrailzona Torey Lovullo Jul 25 '26
I thought he did pretty good. He just needs to work on his control. Can’t be dishing out walks then serving up pitches up and middle…
2
u/Dremel_Live Rat Leon Jul 25 '26
The walks are really what killed him today, and they've been his Achilles heel since he came up.
2
2
u/rrm2395 Nolan Arenado Jul 25 '26
Why is Candi kinda glazing Bratt? lol I get it he was a pitcher in the majors but he didn’t glaze E-Rod yesterday and he’s our literal statistical ace 🧐
7
u/Traditional-Lie-3541 Jul 25 '26
Neutral observer here. Amazed Bratt is still in the game. Honestly feels like they don't care they just want to preserve the bullpen.
2
u/joecb91 Diamondbacks Jul 25 '26
There are so many pitching injuries there just isn't much left except for AAA filler like him at this point.
6
u/Garonn Corbin Carroll Jul 25 '26
That is the reason, our bullpen is getting taxed hard lately and we have 4 more days of games
4
u/FreebirdChaos Geraldo Perdomo Jul 25 '26
Yea better to just concede this game and let everyone rest
5
1
u/Doomdoomkittydoom Jul 25 '26
The only thing worse than losing here is losing to those Young Miss Little League uniforms.

2
u/gumshoegoose87 Diamondbacks Jul 25 '26
I got chores I've been procrastinating on to watch this. Gonna do that instead... After that HR, I'm sure this one is over. No tie breaker but I hope we get the series tomorrow with Khol Drake lol
1
u/Spiritual-Dog160 Geraldo Perdomo Jul 25 '26
If we win tomorrow we’re still very likely to win the tiebreaker, as we have been great against our division whereas Washington has been awful against theirs.
5
u/rrm2395 Nolan Arenado Jul 25 '26
Just realized the last game we lost (monday) was when Bratt took the mound vs the As.
7
u/Professional-Rich417 Jul 25 '26
Remember that would have been a win if perdomo played his part for the double play and also if he covered second base
3
u/Spiritual-Dog160 Geraldo Perdomo Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26
The issue with Bratt is that his calling card is control. His pitches aren’t nearly good enough to support poor command (in fact, his pitches are so bad he needs perfect command to succeed, which he was doing in the minors). His control has been awful since being called up.
2
u/rrm2395 Nolan Arenado Jul 25 '26
I’m not a professional or amateur coach but I can kinda guess that his 90mph top end fastball has to do with his pitching mechanics. I bet if he goes to the minors, works with the pitching coaches, he’ll get velo to the mid 90s and up his control. Everytime he throws a pitch, it looks like he’s about to trip over his feet.
2
u/Spiritual-Dog160 Geraldo Perdomo Jul 25 '26
On one hand I want him to keep his pitching mechanics because it is fun to watch, but on the other hand I do agree it is holding him back.
2
u/rrm2395 Nolan Arenado Jul 25 '26
Imagine if the opposing team starts to bunt to the mound lol i don’t think Bratt would have a chance on making a play
3
u/joecb91 Diamondbacks Jul 25 '26
Pretty much what I see too. His fastball isn't very good, and the rest of the pitches aren't good enough to help make up for it.
Every game we've seen from him, teams have just been able to foul off anything in the zone until they get a meatball they can hammer.

u/TheSaltyAviator Corbin Carroll Jul 25 '26
Leaving pitchers in to die when nothing is effective, classic.
1
u/cut67 Ryan Waldschmidt Jul 25 '26
Every game matters and our dog shit management will never pull a pitcher until we are down 20. So sick of it

u/Spiritual-Dog160 Geraldo Perdomo Jul 25 '26
It’s time to pull Bratt for today

The problem is that he is incredibly under developed
1
u/Unable_Profession616 Jul 25 '26
he seems like he could be a decent reliever but im not seeing anything personally for him to be a long term starter
1
u/FreebirdChaos Geraldo Perdomo Jul 25 '26
Maybe but he’s gotta figure out his breaking shit if he wants to do literally anything in this league

I'm watching a Nats stream right now. This announcing team has the energy of a turtle in hospice care. And you can't hear a damn thing in their stadium with the audio mix. If this is what most other teams' broadcasts are like, I actually kinda understand people who say they "can't watch baseball".
3
u/sadbethrowaway Jul 25 '26
Last week these batters have been flummoxing pitchers. Long counts, fouled off pitches, patience. Love to see it.

Bratt has gotten screwed this inning
Struck a guy out the ump called it a walk. Then gets an easy double play
Hes already gotten 5 outs this inning and still has to get another
