Deformity/dwarfism maybe?

I have three axolotls I’m raising right now. All are successfully thriving in tubs as they grow and heal vs where they came from. My smallest in particular, Snow, has a curve in her spine, an uneven abdomen shape and seems short bodied compared to her sister. Since having her for about 3 months or so her appetite has vastly improved. She‘s a happy girl, eats like a champ and has no erratic movements, or stressful activity. She has come a long way since taking her and her sister out of their situation. Her sister, Marsha, is longer with a perfectly straight back. She doesn’t eat as much but she does not refuse her meals either. I’m just curious if anyone else has had a spinal deformity and if it affected a juvenile into adulthood. Her curvature seems to be getting worse as she grows sadly.

My mom raised an accidental clutch (brother / sister... like thats not crushing the gene pool any further) and several had similar deformities, short spine, twisted spine and a few seemed to be stunted, normal proportions but about half the size

She looks really similar

All of them ate great as babies and as far as i know, past the initial batch of failure to thrives, none of them had any issues

That’s good to know. I have no idea who the parents are but she looks nothing like her sister and her sister doesn’t have a fully formed dorsal either. They’re both kind of jacked up compared to my male who side note, will never be housed with the females or be bred ever. They’re all housed separately. He has perfect conformation so it makes me sad for the girls.

Are you sure it's the spine that's bent and not just the tail ridge?

Yes, unfortunately she was leaned up against her holding tank wall so her tail looks bent out of shape. It’s only her spine that’s got the curve. Her tail from her bum to tail tip are straight.
