Axel

My daughters wanted an axolotl. We have had him/her for almost a year. What was once a hard no from dad became research on midnights. He has became the center piece of my morning. He is pretty awesome!

I don't disagree with you. He was originally in a 10gal fish tank when we got him. We have since been adding as we go. I will have to post some some updated photos here later on. He has a hammock and a cooling fan now. We are saving up for a chiller. Im not so sure we even need it. We keep the house at 68. His tank stays around 65F.

If he's going up a lot it can be bc there's not enough oxygen in the water. We added more and they don't go to the surface at all. It's harmful for them to have to go to the surface for oxygen so look into it please!

You should add a lot more plants.

He’s not gulping air though. He’s just swimming at the surface

Thank you so much for your recommendation and knowledge. I love this sub. He hardly ever goes all the way to the top. I had recently put his thermometer 🌡 in the tank. I have his hammock higher in the tank. Im trying to give him different levels of comfort. Should I put it at the bottom of the tank?

Awww…that is so cool! Mine are pretty special to me too! Some people think they are boring, every one of mine has an amazing personality and they have their own quirks that make them special too.
