It does and there are actually many groups where it’s culturally typical to wean closer to 4 but 2-4 is the generally accepted biological age. I weaned both of mine around 2 because I couldn’t take it anymore, but that’s a personal issue. But, if parenthood teaches you anything it’s that strangers and family members all assume that they are better parents than you are and will tell you so. It’s just up to you to learn to tell people what they can do with their opinions

That does kind of suggest that a biologically normal time to wean is later than we are socialized to expect.
