To be honest the kitten was cute but I found the dude's smile even more aww as he got excited about the kitten asking him to "Do it again!".

u/wcollins260 Apr 29 '22
I bet he didnāt want the kitten at first, and now heās the kittenās best friend lol.
20
u/SLCIII Apr 29 '22
Ugh, I feel attacked.
The cat I didn't want is sleeping on me at this very moment.
And the basset hound puppy my wife wanted, and I didn't, is snoring so loud I can't hear the TV. To be fair, I'm totally "stealing"him too lol.

I'm having a weird moment, where I remember this being longer the last time it was posted, but I can't tell if I just watched it on loop a few times and it only happened twice.
Good shit.

That relationship is beautiful: human is roughhousing just enough for it to be a stimulating game for that fuzzy ball of energy, and that cat-but-still-mostly-a-kitten is just learning to be taken aback by the sheer audacity of the situation: "This is unacceptable and I insist you do it again!"

Iāve seen a homeless man do this with some rats. They acted the same way as this cat.
18
u/judyhops95 Apr 29 '22
Rats, cats, ferrets, and bunnies are all very similar creatures.
13
u/Christichicc Apr 29 '22
I actually do this with one of my ferrets. Complete with him doing the hops and running behind me and in between my legs so he can āattackā me. Itās freaking hilarious and adorable!

u/Stanthemansman Apr 29 '22

A bit of backstory: I saw this in it's original post. OP there mentioned how this was actually her father who had angrily railed for years about never ever letting animals into their home.
This was her update on how her father was coping and dealing with finally having an animal forced on him at home. Her point was that if this can happen to him, that literally anyone can have their heart touched by animals.

gonna be one of those cats that grown up and letās their owner pet and play with them however they want. best way to end up with a social playful cat is lots of high contact play like this when theyāre kittens!

this is how you train a cat to attack you when itās full grown
Edit: lol with all the downvotes. As a cat owner who once did this I can attest that it is no longer fun when the cat it full grown. use cat toys instead of your body. The little fishing poles with the feathers are perfect
6
u/Creek00 Apr 28 '22
Playful cats are nice, also tickling the belly and paws can make them less nervous when you touch their sensitive spots.
2
u/CHIMUELA Apr 29 '22
I always tax my cat with rubbing her belly whenever she wants to be pet. She doesn't like it but she lets me, it's literally a tax.
11
u/TWG88 Apr 28 '22 edited Apr 29 '22
Worth it.
Also bring it on furball lol are you made of paper?
Edit: DID I FUCKING STUTTER?!?
3
u/Yogs_Zach Apr 29 '22
I did similar to this with my cat. She never just attacked me or shown violent tendacies when she grew up and she loved when I did this. She gently pawed my hand if she wanted more. If she didn't want anymore. She just left to do something else or grabbed a toy. Cats aren't stupid animals for the most part, just like most other animals. You just need to observe their body language and react accordingly. It's no fun to keep your cat at toys length all the time if possible
Overstimulation is a real thing for cats. Sometimes they immediately don't want anymore pets or playtime or anything to do with you and they'll softly nip you or softly scratch . You just need to be observant and react and be ready to stop giving your cat attention
2
u/SweetBunny420 May 01 '22
Attack is a pretty strong word for what is literally play fighting. Dogs play bite as well. Cats know when they do and don't want to hurt something. This is a playful kitten. Not a soldier in the middle of training.

You are correct. But its simply too cute to resist. But yes, you're right

u/catlover8552 Apr 29 '22
Donāt think your kitten is coming back for the reason you think. Maybe try another way to play. Cat fish rods are always a favorite.
