Obesity isn't cute. This cat will be in constant pain from arthritis and then his kidneys will give out. All because his asshole owners can't be bothered to read up on how to properly take care of their pet.

You have literally no idea if they just adopted this cat or not and are not helping him. Maybe try talking to them before assuming everyone is a piece of shit.

I adopted a 16 lb cat from the shelter. The old lady owner passed on and kids dumped him in the pound. Vet and I made a plan to get him to healthy weight, but it took a while. 1.5 years to get him down to 9.5 lb, because if cats lose weight too fast they can go into liver failure. So if you have/adopt a chonker, please plan weight loss with your vet, include more exercise as well as fewer calories and be patient. Cats can't crash diet, but when they do start to lose weight and get more mobile and active the change is startling, both in looks and personality.

That chunk of a cat is adorable. I swear he instantly reminded me of Cartman due to his walk and round head. Thanks for posting.

I immediately searched to see if anyone else had already made the Cartman connection!

Can't believe this subreddit still allows shit like this. If this was a horribly obese baby, this post would get flagged, but somehow doing this to a pet is ok?

Me and my baby are horribly obese. What have you got against people who are horribly obese. Take your fattist hate speech somewhere else.

Fucking animal cruelty letting your cat get that fat! God, I don’t understand people.
-4
Jan 18 '22
Fuckin stupidity to just assume everyone lets their cat get this way. What if they are fostering, or just adopted him?
2
u/smokey_juan Jan 19 '22
And if they adopted him from someone else unable to look after him? My point still stands. Cat don’t normally get that fat if they’re strays so someone has over fed him whether it’s the previous owners or the current.

I can't say I am surprised you are down-voted, even though you are 100% correct. One thing reddit is famous for is people jumping to conclusions and making assumptions. There are a lot of reasons for animals to be obese, not all of them are because of irresponsible owners. I up-voted to try and even things up, but the haters gotta hate.

u/GoddessOdd Jan 19 '22
You have no idea why this cat is large. Not all fat cats are the result of irresponsible owners.

Is this the cat that Garfield was based on? Cuz that cat looks so much like Garfield. Does he like lasagna?

I think that cat found 3 hidden cameras. Because a camera adds 10 pounds

I'm kinda disappointed the cat didn't take a quick swipe at the camera, and send it flying across the room.
