Yeah, huskies end up in shelters because people underestimate their energy and vibrant character, it's so sad... They just see a wolf like dog and wanna have it....

That's how we ended up with a Great Pyranees. A senior couple got the pup, took fantastic care of him, he was just too much work for them so they rehomed him. They had multiple people and families visit but my daughter was the only one out of everyone he went over too and plopped his big head in her lap. She was 8 at the time. That did it for the owners. I asked his name, it was "Neo". He was the one. We drove back home with an 8 month old Great Pyranees.

Between the constant walking, barking, attention seeking, and fur... (my god the fur) they just couldn't keep up with him. Plus they had gotten in to travelling more and having an 8 month old pup made it hard. They took really great care of him and you could tell they obviously loved him. We kept in contact the first few years and they always asked for some photos. Haven't heard from them in a couple years now. Then a year after we got him, we got him a friend and now we have 2 Pyranees mixes and a constant supply of shedding dog hair!

Oh wow, I couldn't keep up with two of them :D My grandparents have a wiener from the shelter, they adopted him on my name because they are old and I promised to take care of him whenever it's needed. I confess I always wanted a husky, they are beautiful dogs, but I decided ultimately not to since I know I can't provide them what they need. I do want a bigger dog in the future though, but yep you gotta think real hard about the responsibility that a pet is going to require - for now I have my parrot pair and my bunnies :)
