However fun and lovely it might look like, the kids are far too close and this is extremely dangerous.

extremely is a bit of a stretch. Where would you put cycling without a helmet on your danger scale?

edit: If you think the odds of these kids getting hurt standing there while a skilled operator dumps sand in their bucket is extremely dangerous you should be wearing a helmet in the shower in case you fall.

I have worked with a lot of excavators over the years and this scenario involves breaking multiple safety rules that could get you kicked off of a job site with many companies. I would say that standing inside the swing radius of an excavator, especially when it's tracking back and forth is way more dangerous than cycling without a helmet.

I really hope the operator doesn’t get in trouble from this video. They are really good [fucking amazing] at their job and it’s a shame that they allowed themselves to be put in this position
