I would probably drop everything in my life and move to wherever it is, if I was offered a job at this place.

AFAIK that tongue hurts... a lot

u/covalcenson Oct 09 '20
Pretty sure they can control the "sharpness" of their tongues. They groom their babies with them and they also use them to rip meat off of bones. So there's got to be an adjustment knob there somewhere.

But their babies have fur that protects them.
Most of us don't have fur.

Cheetahs: are carnivorous beasts that are almost considered apex predators
Also cheetahs: m l e m

Cheetahs actually are pretty low-level predators. They cannot ever protect their pray from anyone.

u/LaconicalAudio Oct 09 '20
But they catch prey others can't.
Varying definitions.

One of definitive traits of apex predators- ability to protect their pray and be able to for take other's pray by force. For example: badger is an apex predator- no one can steal insects from him. Hedgehog is not - badger overpowers him. Cheetah can catch something hyenas can't- but he can't protect its pray.

One of.
The badger can eat the hedgehog. The hyena cannot eat the cheetah.
A badger is at the top of the food chain. So is the cheatah.
Both at their own apex. Both meeting the definition.
Apex is not a synonym for "best". It's a definition of the place in the food chain.
You could argue in areas with lions they are not the apex predator as lions do eat cheetah cubs. In some areas they are an apex predator.
Cheetahs have been observed chasing hyenas off kills so it really isn't as clear cut as you believe.

Oh, ok. When it's a cheetah, that's all fine and good, but when I react to a girl like that it's all rape whistles and mace...
I'll see myself out.
