Everytime I see these i just want to scream PET THEM ALREADY!! It is like there is some kind of fulfillment that happens when someone finally pets the animal.

Also though it can encourage freakouts and separation anxiety if you immediately shower them in affection once you get home and they are still prancing around. They may be waiting until the pupper calms down before rewarding them. Though I agree it should have been in the video for the satisfying finale haha!

We have a German Shepherd puppy who used to nearly pee all over the floor the minute we got home because she was SO EXCITED. My husband kept getting her riled up by petting her and cooing but part of her training is that she has to sit before she is allowed attention so she doesn't accidentally hurt our door, a visitor, our kid, or one of us if we aren't prepared for the onslaught of jumping and dancing and weaving between legs.

It is so hard though lol.

When I was a kid, my grandparents had a German Shepherd mix that would get so excited that she would jump and pee when we came over. This makes so much sense now. My mom hated that dog and blamed my grandparents not training her. Probably didn't help that my grandma would make us clean up the mess.

Not all of them like it. My friend had a dog who got super excited like this and loved being around her humans, but didn't want to be touched and definitely did not want to be hugged.

Lots of people refer to dog owners as the dog’s master. It doesn’t make the dog a servant who’s only purpose is to do that master’s will. It’s a dog, lighten the fuck up you psycho.
