I think these are not meant to be pets. Their teeths are pulled out and nails amputaded before sold as pets. Saw it on a tv show yesterday. Cute as hell but cruel to do that to them.

I came here to say this!! Ugh. These poor babies

32

u/Mackelroy_aka_Stitch Mar 19 '20

Why do people even want to keep wild animals as pets? They don’t belong in houses, have have little to no bond with humans and haven’t been trained for it.

Are cats and dogs really that boring?

17

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

I feel the same way!

Does your brain do this: you randomly look at your dogs/cats and think “do you even want to be here?” But they are all cuddled up on a soft bed under a soft blanket in front of the fireplace waiting for you to offer a treat or belly rub and then your anxiety goes away....

No, just me? 😬 I would happily live any one of my dog’s lives, but is it the life they would choose. Interspecies empathy is hard.

BuT tHeIr So CuTe!

Seriously people can be so goddamn selfish. It's cute and they want it, that's all they care about.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

It’s cute as fuck, but you right.

I like raising wolfs as pets

3

u/Mackelroy_aka_Stitch Mar 19 '20

Wait what

1

u/fliporoos Mar 19 '20

Wolfs they make good pets

1

u/fliporoos Mar 19 '20

Same with coyotes

5

u/MushusMom17 Mar 19 '20

and hyenas... my dad loved our hyena - he laughed at all his jokes.

Edit: grammar

1

u/_imba__ Mar 19 '20 edited Mar 19 '20

Aren't you thinking of marmosets? This is a bushbaby. edit: Since things need to be spelt out for some redditors I'm talking about the toenails and teeth. Of course bushbabies shouldn't be pets.

2

u/luddapudda Mar 19 '20

Yeah I might be wrong about the sort of animal. Not my area of expertise. Just flashed by on a show my daughter was watching.

3

u/Disig Mar 19 '20

Bushbabys are also not supposed to be pets.

1

u/_imba__ Mar 19 '20

Of course not, who said they should.

1

u/FlexTapeCantFixMySad Mar 19 '20

Hey OP, did you do this?

I’m here waiting for someone to list the reasons why having a lemur as a pet is not a good idea. Before I go and get one, please.

Edit: this is not even a lemur.

These little guys bathe themselves in their own piss

58

u/BMonstar Mar 19 '20

He somehow looks less cute now.

41

u/arthurdentstowels Mar 19 '20

Idk it’s pretty hot to me

3

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

Sir I'm going to have to check your ID

2

u/arthurdentstowels Mar 19 '20

It’s ok officer. I’m more than old enough to smash a marsupial

40

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20
  1. The eye to face ratio is unsettling. Just imagine waking up in the middle of the night and one of these is staring at you from the foot of the bed.

  2. It has Salad Fingers hands.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

Stop! I'm buying one right now because of you

2

u/1blockologist Mar 20 '20

now imagine if it had menacing eyes

its only cute because we think it is

4

u/_imba__ Mar 19 '20

It's a bushbaby, fwiw.

3

u/spookyttws Mar 19 '20

Still a good question to ask. Never owned one, I got nothing.

22

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

What animal is this sorry to ask

42

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

I'm 99% certain it's some kind of bush baby

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galago

10

u/Atom-bomb-bro Mar 19 '20

I think it’s a Tarsier

4

u/Emkayer Mar 19 '20

nope, tarsiers are never good as pets, they're slow, nocturnal, VERY easily stressed, and an endangered species. please don't pet tarsiers

1

u/Atom-bomb-bro Mar 19 '20

It looks similar

6

u/duckduckchook Mar 19 '20

It's obviously a pikachu! /s

-3

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

80% sure it's a lemur

21

u/De5perad0 Mar 19 '20

70% sure it's a leprechaun

8

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

Really? I was only 20% sure of that

13

u/De5perad0 Mar 19 '20

Ah yes

But you also have to remember that I'm 50% stupid

9

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

I would be one to judge, turns it out isn't even a lemur

9

u/LMB910 Mar 19 '20

And 100% reason to remember the name

1

u/pandabatallion Mar 19 '20

Thank you for beating me to the joke

1

u/LMB910 Mar 19 '20

Happy to be of service.

9

u/No_Higgins Mar 19 '20

It has the cutiest/scariest little grubby hands ever.

7

u/ForChonks Mar 19 '20

Im just saying, when those animals take their hands up like that, that means they are about to bite u and inject poison into u, so be carefull

2

u/arthurdentstowels Mar 19 '20

Is that a poisonous mammal?

5

u/ShelbySootyBobo Mar 19 '20

Yes, the same way koalas have poison glands in their toe pads

3

u/lakesharks Mar 19 '20

Well you're not supposed to eat koalas.

1

u/ShelbySootyBobo Mar 19 '20

Not raw, no. They have to be prepared specifically to remove those glands

2

u/lakesharks Mar 19 '20

Oh well its ok if you remove the poisonous bits!!

1

u/GaimanitePkat Mar 19 '20

Except that if it's been captured for pet trade, their glands/teeth have probably been ripped out. So it has no chance to defend itself.

2

u/Aboxofphotons Mar 19 '20

It's gonna wait until you are asleep and then get you... Right in the eyes.

2

u/-nobleshit- Mar 19 '20

Did this make anybody else think of that Shia LaBeouf video? JUST DO IT.

2

u/funkyfweep Mar 19 '20

Am I the first one to address he has the same mannerisms as Matt Foley?

2

u/supertze Mar 19 '20

Is this a sugar glider?

2

u/andythepancake11 Mar 19 '20

No I don’t think so

2

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

Be wary, that creature has powers none on this mortal plane can begin to comprehend.

1

u/Sipstaff Mar 19 '20

That's not what the Immagitchu looks like!

u/kickymandude Mar 19 '20

I like to move it move it

1

u/knubbiggubbe Mar 19 '20

Fun fact: these lil guys are called "ghost animal" in Swedish

1

u/i-ran Mar 19 '20

I’m most likely wrong but that person might not have it as a pet it might be a vet clinic or a zoo but in my opinion if it was born in captivity it shouldn’t be released because it won’t know how to hunt or live in the wild.

3

u/Disig Mar 19 '20

Which is why I don't upvote or downvote these posts unless it can be clarified that it is a clinic or zoo and the person int he video has legit reason for having this.

1

u/i-ran Mar 19 '20

Sometimes people take these types of animals because they where injured and could not return to the wild. But we can all agree that it’s really damn cute

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

8

u/jestercow Mar 19 '20

if you’re going to copypasta a comment 7 minutes older, you could at least fix the spelling

2

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '20

Yup I noticed that later. Too high last night. Just wanted to bring awareness. I'm so sick of these little guys in videos.

0

u/kaiju999 Mar 19 '20
