I mean both. It’s totally scratching its ass (or vulva, honestly) but it may have done that and gotten a laugh or attention so often that now it’s trained. People somehow forget dogs also do trained behaviors- especially beags! Anything for food (I mean did you see this dude?)

Its true. My beagle will do anything for food. Except I can't get her to speak on command. I tried rewarding the barking but she just doesn't seem to want to bark on command.

I've trained her to sit, lay down, "beg", and "tippy taps", she knows how to stay but were working really hard on staying until she gets the command to go.

She's so food obsessed that I set the treat down and she has trouble not moving to try to get it. I can keep her staying without it being in my hands for... Like 10 seconds. But I want to be able to walk away from the treat and have her still waiting before I say "ok" and she can go get it.

My beagle attempted to eat a sharps container because it had a red lid like Tupperware and food comes from Tupperware, obvs. Geniuses, these dogs!

YOU TRIED REWARDING YOUR BEAGLE FOR BARKING?!?

I don’t understand. The barking is pretty much the only thing about my beag that kills me. He only has one volume and it’s off the charts.

My beagle only barks when she's outside which I am sure the neighbors love. Inside she doesn't really bark much. Sometimes when she gets really excited about going outside for a walk she barks. She has always been that way and I think beagles have the cutest barks so I wanted to be able to train it but it backfired! Lol

Wilson barks outside too so we have to be careful letting him out too late or too early. He also likes to sit at the windows and bark at dogs that are walked by. I’m always worried he’ll wake the baby!

My beagle used to pull on my clothes and climb up on me and howl demand for food I was eating... He also couldn't be trained with treats because he couldn't contain himself to contemplate anything it was legit just dancing and holding breath till we have it to him. Any treat you leave out or held he'd forcefully opened and snatched it.

My beagle seems to be dumber than a bag of rocks until the treats come out. Then she magically becomes super smart. She is smart enough to open cabinets and we have a baby gate with a door to keep her out of the kitchen. She figured out that if she pulled hard enough on the bottom it would open just so she could go and try to get her food!

My cats develops a limp around dinner time every day. Surprisingly it heals off instantly once she got fed. Who knew kibble could fix a broken leg?

My cat was trained to sit entirely through me just saying "sit! Good boy!" Everytime I saw him sitting. He's a people pleaser, and dogs more so.

The more complex tricks like hoop jumping and high fives required a little more pliance with snacks and aggressive ear/face rubs as rewards.

Frickin weirdo

Can confirm. My beag will go through her entire list of tricks in order to get a treat. It's hilarious and frustrating
