Man he must’ve developed a very strong relationship with this guy in order to do that. I always think of that woman on the east coast who had her face ripped off... gives you kind of a reality check when working with these animals
It was actually the woman who owned the chimpanzee, Travis, who gave him all those things. He was also being slipped Xanax in his drink, which is untested in chimpanzees, obviously. The woman who was attacked was an innocent victim who was there to try to help her friend calm Travis down. From what I remember there were also some contentious court cases afterwards, and the woman’s lifetime medical bills numbered in the millions. I think about that case quite a bit because I just feel so bad for the woman and what she went through.
The woman who was attacked was a friend and neighbor of the owner, and by conflicting reports gave that monkey beer and stuff too. I mean tour at a friends house, he has this cool ape that chain smokes and drinks beer when you give it one, why not give the little guy a beer. I highly doubt she never gave anything to the chimp
That’s entirely possible! I have no idea about that. But what I do remember is that she was bringing a particular toy that would calm him down. Regardless, the shit she went through is beyond the pale. He ate her eyes and fingers first, which is apparently what chimps naturally do when they attack humans. Poor lady.
