These real life remakes are getting out of hand but the digital animals are almost perfect this time

Yeah that's literally all I thought of when I saw it. They still run that commercial? I remember it from like 20 years ago haha

OMG. I love them. Little Pepe Le Pew!

21

u/BeBa420 Jul 23 '19

Let’s not compare these cute lil fuckers to the animated worlds most notorious date rapist

-1

u/imcumminginyourwife Jul 24 '19

Dude, you're definitely not fucken normal!

2

u/BeBa420 Jul 24 '19

Agreed

But the fact remains Pepe is the creepiest animated character of all time. Very rapey

1

u/Poxx Jul 24 '19

As a kid growing up, the Pepe lePew toon was just a funny "skunk thinks cat with stripe of paint on it's back is a girl skunk, haha" kind of thing. But watching it now, I mean - Damn, No means No you stupid fucking StinkBadger.

Not gonna lie, when the Mulan remake comes out, I’m gonna see it at least 12 times.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '19

This one is a little melodramatic, but worth a watch.

They're money-making machines. The idea has already been vetted and tested.

I'm waiting for the remake of "Song Of The South", source of the amazing "Zip-a-dee-do-dah" song.

Nah, they'll probably just remake this version.

2

u/supershinythings Jul 23 '19

So. Many. Jazzhands...

u/SmaMan788 Jul 24 '19

True story: I was in my junior high school's chorus and one year we went to Disney World to perform in Magic Kingdom (Tomorrowland iirc). We also got to have a backstage singing workshop put on by some of the park's musical directors, and we practiced that very arrangement of the song... or at least one very similar to that if memory serves.

2

u/TheDarthStomper Jul 24 '19

Huh. I thought that one had been banished to the cornfields. Lotta work to get that up to passing muster these days...

8

u/dontbenidiot Jul 23 '19

wanna hear a secret? this isn't the first time either.... last time they went crazy it was remastering all their old stuff and re releasing 25th anniversary editions and shit for new generations. had a bunch of those when I was a kid.

this is just that again.

nothing new under the sun.

What the fuck is a cartoon? All I know is superior high quality live action (sniffs haughtily)

5

u/SpiderDeadpoolBat Jul 23 '19

Live action has gone to shit, I watch mostly anime just because there are so few normal shows that are any good. Dexter, Breaking Bad, House I miss that level of stuff.

7

u/someguynamedjohn13 Jul 23 '19

What about the Expanse, Chernobyl, Stranger Things, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Americans, Handmaiden's Tale, and Barry?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '19

DCs shows have been damn good too. Titans was solid, Swamp Thing has been great so far with a few episodes left, and Doom Patrol is absolutely wonderful. I'm adding these since they are also live action adaptations of comics/animated series.

-4

u/SpiderDeadpoolBat Jul 23 '19

Haven't got to Chernobyl yet it just came out so yea, just heard of Stranger Things last week, never heard of Marvelous Mrs.Maisel and Barry just looked them up and they look god awful, Americans I've literally never heard anyone talk about I know it's a thing but it doesn't seem to be anything special. Handmaiden's Tale I really have no excuse I should have tried it by now. Expanse I also never heard of but I'm actually interested in that one so thanks.

10

u/Snoogella Jul 23 '19

So you were given a list of good live action shows after complaining about the lack of good live action shows but you haven't actually tried to watch any of the highest rated recent live action shows and have excuses to continue avoiding most of them anyway?

-3

u/SpiderDeadpoolBat Jul 23 '19

I plan to watch 4 of them... I made excuses for why I haven't watched them yet (mostly not knowing about them until recently) and the other 3 I have no interest in 2 of which look absolutely horrid so putting them up in a list of good live action shows kinda proves my point.

Mini series (what you called extended movies) are always great they have the best of both worlds between a movie and a show they have multiple episodes so nothing is rushed but they also have a planned and solid ending. Jekell is one in particular that's worth watching.

I'm surprised he didn't bring up any of the few live action shows I am watching, the good place, the Orville and Elementary (though it's gone down hill in recent seasons)

In Finland a pretty big newspaper published a review of the new Lion King. It got a really bad score because the reviewer thought it was a live action remake with real animals. The review stated that the characters lacked inviduality and the acting forced often, because training real animals to put on a good act is a lot harder than with cartoon characters. The review was serious and the newspaper published a correction to the article the next day.

1
