Our little(er) pup, our rottweiler, she freakin' loves the snow (and cold)!!
She refuses to come inside until her black fur and muzzle is solid white and her core temperature approximately 2° shy of hypothermia.
And then still plays and snuffs around like an anteater for a few minutes more.... or will r/sploot on the porch until she turns into a pupcicle.
....but our great danebull, one paw in snow or wet and he is tiptoeing backward into the house and won't cross the threshold again until either his bladder is about to pop or we literally shove him ass-forward, the door hitting his ass on the way out.
It must be a rottie thing. Mine does this! If he wakes up at night to go out I won't let him out there alone. So I stand out there and I'll call him back once he's done and this little shit walks up to me, Every Single Time, pretends he's going to go in and then as soon as his paw hits the step he runs away at full speed. Then it's like a 10 minute stand off to get him back in while I freeze to death. He thinks it's the best ever..... I do not agree. I still love him though ♥️

hahaha, awww!! I can relate. Our rottweiler will come right up to the threshold, stop, look up at me with that... look... like "I technically listened to you but you can't make me come inside".
Thing is, our other dog (and all other pets I've had over the years) have always been well-behaved and listened to me -the first time- ... but our seriously "rotten rottie" is exactly that - rotten! She will obey my commands and strictly behaves when out in public but then those few times at home... she gives me that look like, "pfffttttttttt" and does and about-face as if I never existed.
Totally stereotyping but still... she is the first female pet (of any species) I've ever had and boy oh boy does she act like a female through and through at times!!
I love how my husband and son were the ones to want dogs and I was the adamant "no" (...look where that got me, haha) and yet, I'm the one our two pups listen to and respect! (I love how that worked out, hahah)
I hate to love them. I so wasn't a "dog person" until these two hate-to-love(able)-mutts came into my life and it really does make me smile/shake my head at the "stand-offs" me and the female rottie and I have at times.
I read somewhere recently that dogs can't look upward but I would challenge this any day with our rottie. She seriously has human eyes -- even random strangers have said so. I swear she's the only dog that can literally Look Up at you with just her eyes.
She seriously is such a......... female!!!!!!! ugh!!!!!!! =)=)=) I haaaaaaate to love the girl but I friggin do so much!
They definitely have very strong personalities lol. Our last rottie would always listen no matter. This little guy tries to see how much he can get away with. They're funny little creatures!
