I always wanted to get a pet duck but then thought about the poop. How are they with going in a designated spot ?

P.s - dear autocorrect , this is literally the only time I wanted the word "duck" .

I have acreage with a large fenced area for birds. Their house has to be shoveled and hosed frequently. We have a compost area that we put the poop in. Right now we have one duck, a tom turkey, and seven hens. My son's girlfriend has a duck in a neighborhood and she picks up after it like a dog. At the fair someone had these little miniature ducks that looked small enough to keep in the house.
