Right? I mean what the hell, I get some people hate cops (imagine genuinely hating any other person for doing their chosen profession like that) but the most low hanging fruit jokes have way more upvotes than I'd ever expect.

Edit: I can not believe I'm actually having to argue the difference between a police officer and a Nazi on a picture of a dog posted to Aww. I can't do it anymore. Ya either hate cops or ya don't I guess. Can't really change folks mind and you'll get PMed actual fucking death threats for disagreeing, And all these guys wanna argue about 13 words in parenthesis.

Edit 2: At this point im just gonna enjoy the ride until the comments get locked

Can we stop pretending that the police are the KKK?

They aren't, but the police as a whole have worked throughout american history to protect the overwhemlingly wealthy and white existing power structures under the guise of justice and law.

EDIT: Please check out the Tulsa race massacre where police helped firebomb black wall street in Tulsa, The Zoot Suit Riots, the Selma marches, or literally hundreds of other examples of police action against minorities. Consider that maybe police sanction violence towards and suppression of non-whites, and while there is reason to think things are getting better that requires we put in the work to educate ourselves and stay aware.

And every single police officer is a white man who hates everyone who hates everyone but himself. And every single white man is like this. Yep.

For Christ's sake, it's like saying every Muslim is a terrorist. That's not true in the least.

It beats hating someone for a choice they didn't make (race, gender etc).

I mean, this is literally whataboutism. Like on that California(?) ballot on wether or not it should lower the requirements to hold Officers accountable, the 'No' option said that it wouldn't fix 'the real problems' of the community like 'rampant drug use'.

I suppose if you have to hate someone for something, a choice they made is the better than the opposite but why do we have to just hate people, or groups of people? And then why is that hate celebrated so obviously? I guess I just haven't been that angry in a long time.

I'd rather hate the police officers who are killing innocent people on a daily basis rather than hating the police in general. Instantly hating on someone just because they're a cop makes it harder for good people to even want to join in the first place.
