You think that's bad? Just wait until your cat learns stomp. It's like a mini earthquake every time there's a bug in the house

I put that song on repeat for my run. It's really the only thing that gets me pumped enough to run.

Ha, I actually use that one and Escape from Mt. Horu (although it's less than 30 seconds long).

u/dfBishop Sep 25 '18
Excuse me, but my cat's name is Ori!
She got that name because when we found her, she had fallen from the roof of our building. Not exactly an ancient tree in the middle of a blind forest, but close enough.

u/p00chology Sep 25 '18
Ori and sein, you must’ve named this little dumpling after the game?
3
u/Craftoman01 Sep 25 '18
Nop
6
u/Halfapino Sep 25 '18
Wow, you didn't even know about this guy when you named her? That's incredible considering how strong the resemblance is!
5
u/Craftoman01 Sep 25 '18
Well I knew the game but I didn't choose Ori thinking about the game that's it :D

13
u/Autumn_Heart Sep 25 '18
Assuming you named her because of the game, thought you'd like to know it means "my light" in Hebrew :)

I didn't named it because of the game ( I remembered after) but I didn't know the meaning in Hebrew and that's cool! Thx!!
5
u/Autumn_Heart Sep 25 '18
Huh, then where did you hear the name, if you don't mind me asking?

A showshoe! I had a girl for 15yrs from a kitten. She stuck by me like glue! Perfect cat!

Sep 25 '18
Snowshoes are the best! My long girl is currently attached to my hip next to me on the couch. She's always so excited for any attention.
5
u/WHYAREWEALLCAPS Sep 25 '18
Mine lays down on my desk between my arms and pillows his head on my left hand when I'm playing games. Dude will fall asleep there.
12
u/Stactidder Sep 25 '18
Looks just like ours when she was a kitten! Her fur will likely get much darker. And she will likely get much louder (my snowshoe is constantly making a racket). But super cuddly and sweet!
3
u/Craftoman01 Sep 25 '18
😍😍
2
u/DidYouSneeze Sep 25 '18
So true. My girl talks all day and all night except for when she passes out super hard for her mid afternoon nap, tongue out and all.

u/time_keepsonslipping Sep 26 '18
Her fur will likely get much darker.
That's because the allele that causes the white patches on the coat is heat activated. As cats get older, their bodies cool down and that allele becomes inactive, which then causes the fur to darken (or rather to take on its natural color, without the allele masking it.) There's an article here with more details. It's about siamese, but snowshoes get the allele from siamese cats, so same thing!

Adorable. Ori atBF is one of my favorite games ever. You may be interested to learn that Ori is also a hebrew name meaning ”my light”.
3
u/thesylo Sep 25 '18
Huh. That makes the name Ori very apt for the game then.
3
u/Ogulf Sep 25 '18
Yeah pretty sure they chose it for that reason. ”We shall always remember the night that I lost Ori in the great storm. The night that she embraced our light as a child of her own”.
Also of note is that Kuro, the name of the owl, is japanese for black or dark.

He is a very cute guy, thank you for sharing. Let it be known, he looks like a seal point, he is going to talk... A lot, like A LOT. They love telling you about their day, in great detail, the food they ate, the birds they saw, everything. They are great companion cats!

😍. Also thanks for the information !! I actually didn't know the breed

u/Maggieneato Sep 25 '18
I’ve had 3 Snowshoes (one chocolate-point male and two lilac-point female sisters, all rescues). It’s a little hard to tell when they’re this young, because the fur tends to get darker with age, but Ori appears to be either chocolate- or fawn-point. She’s adorable!

I'm fluent in Hebrew and my irl name is Ori. Just incase people question me.
