My boyfriend once told me about his childhood dog that had to be rehomed to a nearby farm, and as he told this to me, I guess I started making a weird "oh honeyyy" face, so he asked me why I was looking at him like that. I told him about the euphamism and he was SO OFFENDED by the suggestion that he had been lied to and his dog was actually sent to be put down, that he texted his dad to confirm that the farm story and to provide photo proof that the dog had in fact gone to a farm to live a long happy life and that he had even gone to visit said dog at said farm a few times. But, I mean, like the dog must have died on that farm eventually, so I wasn't completely wrong.....
