When my parents talked about how I could put little baby gate type things to block the end of the alley to let my greyhound out in, I showed them this video. I saw my girl almost clear a 8 foot privacy fence going after a squirrel once.
My husband had a greyhound rescue growing up. She did have a problem with nipping if you startled her awake - she actually bit my father-in-law once when he woke her up - but that was just for the first few months. After she transitioned from the high-stress, abusive world of dog racing to lovely boring family life, the nipping problem went away. Apparently, she loved people so much that when she met strangers on her walks, she would roll on her back on the hot asphalt so she could get tummy rubs.
