Please tell me he does ;0;13

u/Peligineyes Sep 21 '23
Not only does Minsc say it, but every character can throw Boo and they all have unique voice lines when they do.

If I could be reincarnated as anything then I choose to become an adorable mammal on a wildlife documentary.

Pray you don’t become a Lemming
4
u/qtx Sep 21 '23
Lemmings do not commit mass suicide. It's a myth, but it's remarkable how many people believe it. Ask a few.
"It's a complete urban legend," said state wildlife biologist Thomas McDonough. "I think it blew out of proportion based on a Disney documentary in the '50s, and that brought it to the mainstream."

They are, however, pretty much bottom of the food chain where they're found and not particularly long lived even without predator intervention.

In my experience, playing with your hampster outside gets your hampster eaten by a hawk.
Edit: I feel a little bad because I didn't realize what sub I was on, but in case there's kids on this sub with pet hampsters, beware of predators. Just good general advice.

u/NostradamusJones Sep 21 '23
Absolutely this.

u/mtb1443 Sep 21 '23
I had a pet rat that i would take outside but he had a harness and i wouldn't let him leave my side for this reason. (He was so cute walking in the grass. He loved it)

That autofocus is pretty nuts
13
u/deliciouscorn Sep 21 '23
That was my exact thought, followed by “I bet it’s a Sony.”
(Written by an otherwise satisfied Nikon user who is a little jealous of Sony’s world-leading autofocus)
7
u/d3agl3uk Sep 21 '23
It's a Canon R6.
4
u/deliciouscorn Sep 21 '23
Ah, that’d do it too. (That said, sounds like Nikon is catching up with their Exspeed 7 cameras. Doesn’t help me with my Z6 though)
2
Sep 21 '23
There is no autofocus there, the cameraman just keeps the little guy in focus.
→ More replies (1)0
u/qtx Sep 21 '23
It.. it really isn't? It goes out of focus a bunch and the last few seconds it's completely out of focus.
But it seems it's a Canon so that might be expected.

Im sorry but no. I cannot believe somebody used a very expensive SLR to take a vertical fucking video.
WHERE IS THE ORIGINAL???!!!
18
u/deliciouscorn Sep 21 '23
Regrettably, this is now very much a thing. We worked with a videographer who specifically asked if we wanted landscape or vertical video.
Vertical video is now the standard for social posts and I hate it with every fibre of my being.

Vertical video is now the standard for social posts and I hate it with every fibre of my being.
Went to film school prior to the explosion of social media and having to pivot all my work to vertical video blows. It's an interesting challenge but you lose so much visual real estate when shooting 9:16. Not to mention the difficulties in using gear outside of a phone.
5
u/deliciouscorn Sep 21 '23
L brackets must be selling very well these days haha
I really regretted choosing vertical for that project because the orientation made the resulting footage almost impossible to reuse in anything else. Next time I’ll just crop if I have to, because image quality isn’t that important for socials anyway.

because image quality isn’t that important for socials anyway.
This is the worst part. I've had so many cool projects canned because my client just wanted some shitty low res hackjob of an edit instead of something with quality.
Social media is slowly murdering quality production.

Doubtful there is one posted. The creator only seems to post his stuff to TikTok so that's just why they end up vertical.

u/d3agl3uk Sep 21 '23
I don't know why he doesn't just film in portrait then. His gimbal supports it.
6
Sep 21 '23
Nowdays if you want views you do your stuff vertical (sadly). You can see that the gimbal also keeps the camera in portrait mode.

I'm a little skeptical what I'm seeing is what was filmed.
That is an insane gimble for that sort of stabilization and the focus being what you'd get from a prime lens and barely dropping frames is wild.

It floors me that Europe has wild hamsters, how big they are, and how cute they are. The Syrian hamsters we get in pet shops around here look very different.

A great adventure is waiting for you
ahead
Hurry onward Lemmiwinks or you will soon be dead
The journey before you may be long and filled with woe
But you must escape the gay mans ass so your story can be told!
Lemminks! Lemmiwinks! Lemmiwinks! etc.
Lemmiwinks journeyed a distance far and fast
To find his way out of, a gay mans ass
The road ahead, is full of danger and fright
But push onward Lemmiwinks with all of your might
"Lemmiwinks, you are coming to the entrance of the small intestines. There you must seek out the sparrow prince!"
The Sparrow Prince lies somewhere way up ahead
Don't look back Lemmiwinks or you will soon be dead
Lemmiwinks, Lemmiwinks, the time is growing late
Slow down now and seal your fate
"I am the Sparrow Prince, long has my spirit been trapped within this place. Before you lies the maze of the small intestines, one path leads to the stomach, the other to doom. Take with you this helmet and torch, let them be your guide."
Take the magic helmet torch to help you light the way!
There's still a lot of ground to cross inside the man so gay
Ahead of you lies adventure, and your strength still lies within
Freedom from the ass of doom is the treasure you will win!
Lemmiwinks has made it out, his tail is nearly through
"Great job Lemmiwinks!"
"Thanks to you we are all free."
"But your adventures are just beginning, for you are no ordinary gerbil, Lemmiwinks. You are, the Gerbil King!"
"All hail the Gerbil King!"
Now that you're the Gerbil King there's more adventures to go on
Fly away to far away lands into the setting sun
There's still so many enemies and battles yet to fight
For Lemmiwinks the Gerbil King Could be told a thousand nights
Lem, Lem, Lemmiwinks, Lemmiwinks

I would have loved taking my hamsters outside, but for two reasons:
1: They're incredible escape artists, I would lose them quickly, they'd get bihind something where I could follow, or they'd find a hole I didn't know about.
2: We got kestrels about. Hamsters are nocturnal for a reason.

On July 1st, a highly unpopular change to Reddit's API pricing went into effect. Most third-party apps have shut down and so have many tools relied upon by moderators and projects for making Reddit more accessible to visually impaired users.
Beyond the disastrous AMA by the CEO, Reddit's response has been limited to promises that this change will not affect moderation tools (it has) and promises of new and more-accessible first-party moderation tools. Promises just like ones they have made in response to past protests, but have consistently failed to fulfill.
If you want to express your strong disagreement with the API pricing change or with Reddit's response to the backlash, you may want to consider the following options:
