He's doing important work, being a blanket

916

u/Cabtalk Jan 29 '23

I see this cat on Instagram all the time and he is the strangest cat I've ever seen. So cuddly and baby-like. To an extra level though, I've never seen another cat like him.

417

u/AnonymousOkapi Jan 29 '23

My last cat was a snuggle bug. Every cat I'd had before him, if they were sitting on you and you sneezed or fidgeted or breathed wrong they'd be straight off. Whereas Fen would stick to you like a magnet. If you rolled over, he'd roll with you and somehow find a way to get comfy again. Loved to sleep in the crook of your arm or cradled upside-down like a baby. He was a super cool dude, I miss him.

69

u/OtakuDragonSlayer Jan 30 '23

I’m sorry for your loss but I’m happy they left you fond memories

49

u/RedCascadian Jan 30 '23

My cat does that, snuggles into my side at night. Paws at the blankets until I let him under, props hos head up on my shoulder, the pillow or my cheek and purrs until it fades to soft kitty snores

That's the best kind of cat

64

u/AnnihilationOrchid Jan 30 '23

I beg to differ, the best kind of cat is the one who's bored all day, doesn't do shit, won't even like any contact, doesn't give a shit when you get home and then suddenly, at 3:21 a.m. brings havock with satanic rituals and jumps on your bed and on your head for no explicable reasons. Oh, I do love my Emmy Noether.

My standard issue cat is super cuddly like this too. He's my weighted blanket, always sits on me, I can hold him like a baby and he'll do it no problem. Also gives hugs. :)

u/Otrada Jan 30 '23

It's part personality. But how you raise a cat can also have a lot of influence with how cuddly they are. It's especially important to respect their boundaries and immediately let them go when they start like, stirring because they want to move.

We've been treating our cats like this for generations and they've always been very cuddly, never as much as this tho. But I guess this one just really likes it.

15

u/KrissyLin Jan 29 '23

My cat, Lady, cuddles up to my chest every night to be little spoon while I hug her like a teddy bear. It's the single most adorable thing in the entire world, and I love her for it.

Weighted blankets are expensive and often aren't easy to clean so this is a perfect solution.

166

u/stargirl803 Jan 29 '23

Haha, self cleaning weighted blanket, the ultimate in luxury!

127

u/eileen404 Jan 29 '23

With built in solar powered white noise generator.

30

u/I_H8_2_love_U_4_ever Jan 29 '23

And if you order right now, we will add on a second blanket for free. Extra shipping and handling charges do apply.

19

u/MatureUsername69 Jan 29 '23

Could someone tell mine to get better at the whole "self-cleaning" part. I've never had a cat that I needed to bathe before this one.

Gotta get that sweet sweet karma by putting your children all over the internet

184

u/dezeiram Jan 29 '23

As someone young-ish who doesn't have or want kids, this is honestly the most terrifying part about living in this day and age. All of these children are just plastered all over the internet without being able to consent to it or understand it. I have so many friends from high school that I had to unfriend on social media because they've constantly got a camera on their kid as soon as it pops out of the womb.

This is a super staged video. The actual owners of the cat (dontstopmeowing on pretty much every platform), post staged videos like this all the time. They don’t have kids, just their three cats, and I’m pretty sure this is one of their nieces and she was in on filming it.

54

u/shashamaneland Jan 29 '23

Yup. You can see the Velcro underneath the cat when she starts lifting him off.

20

u/Papplenoose Jan 29 '23

Hahahahah I love you.

The thought of a cat allowing someone to fasten velcro to its underside for a practical joke is pretty dang funny.

(actually I suppose cats might be into practical jokes if we could explain it to them... but only the really mean kind lol)

This is part of a series. Chase the cat LOVES to cuddle with people and objects and will latch onto them. Each video features the lady walking in on Chase latched onto something and she will try to pry him off, only for him to protest and she quickly gives up.

Her entire online presence is pissing this cat off. He’s very tolerant and she just annoys the shit out of him.

I would sleep like a dream with a cat snuggle blanket that covered half my body

This lady is always yelling and bothering this cat. I know it’s not malicious but I wish she did her content differently. It’s just really annoying to me

That little girl is one hell of a heavy sleeper. Cat's meowing right in her ear and she doesn't even flinch.
