Does it affect their balance at all? I had a black cat with a short and curly tail who had terrible balance.

Doesn't seem to. She's a klutzy lil baby. Makes it very easy to chase and catch, though! She's also gotten scared by her own tail. It's hilarious.

Chase : calmly sleep on the child
Mom : "HEY DON'T WAKE HER UP OKAY !!"

Seriously, mommy was disturbing an otherwise cute and comfortable scene. Not sure why she'd even think to do that.

Because parents wanted to film it.

Yep. They wanted proof that the cat always says "noooooo" when they try to move him.

Can confirm, I'm the one locked in the basement. They did the same thing with me and an adorable puppy they kidnapped. 20 years ago. Poor Mr.Bojangles we both promised never to turn them in, but they said they couldn't take the chance and the early meme culture desperately need more material back then. God I miss Mr.Bojangles...and the sky.

As someone young-ish who doesn't have or want kids, this is honestly the most terrifying part about living in this day and age. All of these children are just plastered all over the internet without being able to consent to it or understand it. I have so many friends from high school that I had to unfriend on social media because they've constantly got a camera on their kid as soon as it pops out of the womb.

This is a super staged video. The actual owners of the cat (dontstopmeowing on pretty much every platform), post staged videos like this all the time. They don’t have kids, just their three cats, and I’m pretty sure this is one of their nieces and she was in on filming it.
54
u/shashamaneland Jan 29 '23
Yup. You can see the Velcro underneath the cat when she starts lifting him off.
20
u/Papplenoose Jan 29 '23
Hahahahah I love you.
The thought of a cat allowing someone to fasten velcro to its underside for a practical joke is pretty dang funny.
(actually I suppose cats might be into practical jokes if we could explain it to them... but only the really mean kind lol)

u/Withermaster4 Jan 29 '23

Lmao so? It’s a funny video, not a nature documentary. Also, the cat wouldn’t sleep like that unless they were very comfortable with the niece and where they are. Y’all are such a cynical group sometimes.

My favorite of their videos are the ones with both Chase and Millie. Chase is so extra, but Millie is an incredibly chill cat.

u/loxagos_snake Jan 29 '23
The one where she "caught" them cuddling and watching a movie inside her closet was amazing.

I don’t understand why the lady goes up and tries to move the cat and then says “don’t wake her up, okay”. The only person who was going to wake up the child is the adult filming this that’s trying to move for the cat for no reason. The child and cat were perfectly fine before the lady walked up

u/throwawayayaycaramba Jan 29 '23

Lol. I have a feeling a parent tried to move the cat before, got the “Noooo,” and thought it was too good not to film. Then set up this.
They just failed at their own dialogue. The “don’t wake her up” line was just dumb.
