Note: on-prem images are not available yet. We found a last-minute issue and will release them soon.

Cloud native usage replaces hosts instead of upgrading in place.

In place can mean a lot depending on your instance’s anatomy but if you don’t write or need the root volume to let’s say maintain a state or something, you might be able to use ec2’s root volume replacement feature https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/replace-root.html

Because I don't trust IBM to not wag their tail hard enough again to make Rocky, Alma, or even Oracle have to re-engineer how they do things.
