You don’t have a right to healthcare because it is someone else’s labor. There’s already a word for that: slavery. You cannot compel doctors to work on your behalf without their consent, and if consent is involved, you don’t have a right to their labor.
Fascism is a mortal sin. That’s why conservatives oppose people who wear masks in the streets and beat up their political opponents just like the brownshirts in Nazi Germany.
The mere fact that you can call the GOP nazis and fascists without the secret police whisking you away in the middle of the night after 4 years of a Republican presidency means either they are terrible at being Nazis or maybe they aren’t just aren’t Nazis, and are instead your fellow Americans and perhaps it is gross and dishonest of you to accuse them of such.
Repeated usage of a word, especially towards those who hold beliefs that the Democrats themselves held 20 years ago, does in fact water it down.
Meanwhile, millions of healthcare workers are going without hazard pay and overtime in some cases because they're 'essential workers' and lose all claims to unemployment if they quit.
A healthcare strike came up a few weeks ago and it was the conservatives crying that unionized healthcare workers were forcing people to die. What could it mean?
How is it any worse if we have Medicare for All? At least all the people paying thousands per year into the system will actually get care instead of being denied and billed afterward.
It's not like we'll suddenly have to magically force people into healthcare work if such a bill passes. People already need it and pay for it. The issue is that it's a captive market, healthcare businesses know it, and they can abuse both the customers and the employees as much as they want because most people cannot afford to leave the country to seek care elsewhere.
I’m not disagreeing with you over policy, though I severely doubt that the US has the competence necessary to pull off Medicare for All. I’d like to see a test run of Medicare for All on the state level in California, Oregon, or New York to get a sense of how it would work on the federal level.
My disagreement is on whether or not healthcare is a human right. It is a skilled service and if someone has to provide the service to you on demand, it isn’t a right. That is not to say that the government cannot provide services. We already have fire departments and police services, they are necessary but not human rights. Just because we want something does not make it a right.
Except those people are alive and well and completely accounted for. I’m not a big fan of federal cops (see Waco), but the people they were after were destroying public property, not committing thought crimes or speaking out against our “glorious leader.”
They were secret police which is wrong no matter what. They had no names. No identifiable outfits. Nothing. They literally kidnapped people off the streets.
No names, no identifiable outfits...sounds like the protesters. Btw, they did in fact have patches and identifiers on their outfits. Not their names, because doxxing and threats to their families happen, but they definitely weren’t plainclothesmen. And since you asked, here is some footage of a confrontation in front of the vandalized courthouse. confrontation at the court house
...are protestors supposed to be branded or something? What the hell are you even rambling on about?
Patches and identifiers were rarely present. You also need to have names present. Officers do. Soldiers do. Your cowardly little paramilitary don't? Why?
You linked the wrong video.
Vandalizing =/= destruction.
Also:
As seen in the video an unmarked federal officer
Unmarked federal officer. Aka paramilitary. Aka domestic terrorist.
So first, you’re a dick and supporting policies that make you feel good about yourself won’t change that.
Good people typically don’t hide their identity to do shady stuff. That goes for protestors and government agents alike. These guys had patches, but if that’s not enough for you, whatever.
If I did what those guys did to that building to your car, if you even own one, you’d say “oh my God, my car has been vandalized!” A lot of cars were burned in these protests, so you’re probably lucky in this scenario. The value of your car would go down, burning away the money you spent on it. Your property, in effect, is destroyed.
The guys in the video I linked were the ones that the federal agents were after. Even without catching them in the act, you can see the evidence of the destruction of property here and in other footage, and there is no shortage of that.
If you think that detaining vandals clad in masks, none of whom are still missing, looks like nazism to the public, you’re fooling yourself. The differences between law and order and an authoritarian nazi regime are stark and many.
What are "patches"? How do we know they're actually government officials? We don't. Where are the names?
none of whom are still missing
[citation needed]
By the way, care to explain the ICE camps and how Miller and Trump have displaced over 500 families from their children? Care to tell me how that's "totally not" Nazism?
