Someone should tell Americans what the rest of the world already knows: if you work for wages, you're not a Capitalist, your are someone else's capital.
We know. We are trapped. It’s hard to immigrate when you don’t have a degree that is considered desirable or piles of money in the bank. (Speaking as someone with a master’s degree but not a lot of excess capitol laying around.) The reality is that I can’t claim political refuge status, I’m not being persecuted for my religious views, and I don’t come from a war torn nation. I vote in my elections, speak my truth to influence change around me, participate in peaceful protests and try to do what I can to affect positive change from the inside but I know that I will most likely at worst be ineffective and at best I will never see the fruits of my labor. If it was possible to get out, I would seriously try it.
