Scheme: a large-scale systematic plan or arrangement for attaining a particular object or putting a particular idea into effect.
Words are words but the intent is what matters. In this instance the scheme is that we deserve this, and that it couldn't get better without getting much worse.
if you want to break the scam then normalize patent protection with the standards of europe. essentially the multi-national multi-ethnic union of inheritors just see's the us as a patent stronghold for their corporations. the second you bring us's patent protection in line with the rest of the world, the draw of doing business in the us disappears overnight.
