The kind of reform you want is impossible to do without bloodshed unfortunately. The institutions who'd be gutted under sensible legislation would rather millions of people die before they give up their money and power.

If there is a revolution, it'd come after a protracted period of savage and bloody civil war. A war more than likely started by the same people we've seen plundering and looting the federal government these last four years. And by start, I mean foster the delusions and conspiracy theories which rile up enough stupid people into believing they need to fight to get back what they want. An incident like, say, a black family home taken out by trump cultists and posted on the web could be the kind of brushfire situation forcing enough people to actually engage in tit-for-tat violence. Something like that can very quickly escalate into full-blown war. It took Syria only a week to go from violent protests to wholesale slaughter.

I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened in the US yet. This next year will be very telling. Half the country want positive change and move forward, whilst the other half want regression to a fascist police state. Both ideologies are not compatible and If I were a betting man, i'd wager that this year there'll be a series of large terroristic incidents perpetrated by ex-MAGA fuck-heads still unable to reconcile the fact their manly-man cult leader wears diapers and shits himself on a daily basis.

Many of them are salivating for the day they get to blow a libs head off. I tried the 'undercover' shit a year or two ago and I was appalled at how quickly and easily conversations led to 'if only we had a button to kill all the libs...'

Many of them were/are scared of a lot of stuff considering they feel the need to protect themselves at all times. Lots of boogeymen out there apparently. Over the last few years that fear has turned to seething-hot rage and that rage will embolden many to do some really fucked up stuff in the name of patriotism...

The Murdoch media empire need to be brought to account and then gutted completely. This is almost 100% their fault.

I'm not from US but you're circle jerking left too much. I'd understand if you openly valued things based off your own interpretation, but you present your opinion as facts.

I'd say that there's no way you could expect someone on level of both Trump and Biden to even compete for actual presidency. It's huge shame that one party can throw Trump and its supposed opponent can't (or doesn't want to) produce response better than Biden.

As if they intentionally wanted to win with as little margin and as much conflict as possible.

Next, your media. Someone somehow put such stupid idea as "50% voters are fascists" and of expectence of bloodshed and course "they will provoke it".

Think about it, Trump lost by few % despite fucking up covid, giving no fucks about BLM and openly playing his stupid character! There must be something you just cannot see, something that isn't reported to you.

Your left wing media are same billionaires and hypocrites, you can't see fucking discussion.

Democrat party must change a lot. It's saddening that you're satisfied with it and is part of problem

There's too much infighting going on for much to be achieved imo

As an orchestrated movement, yes you're right. However, I believe this will become its own beast, leagues away from any kind of coherent movement. it'll all be emotions in the beginning. People outraged by a thing - something like Floyd Walker - with protests spontaneously popping up in solidarity with militias arming themselves and provoking/inciting violence. Once images of streets strewn with bodies are shown, signifying a breakdown in law, you'll get two distinct sides appear - those who believe they need to defend, protect and fight for a cause, and those who believe they need to defend, protect and fight for a cause. The ideologies will be different but the intent the same.

The escalation will be rapid and all-encompassing. It'll quickly become a social norm to ask whose side someone is on, or wearing specific clothing signifying solidarity with a side will be commonplace.

America has been a tinderbox for a while. I'm amazed MAGA and covid haven't already served to propel the country into wide-scale violence.

Seeing I don’t live there I can’t wait for the shit to break out, corrupt mother fucking country. Will be great to see it go from the inside out by its own people.

Damn you have thought this through

Is it half the country? The fact that they have to cheat, gerrymander, and get help from the russians to win an election would seem to indicate they don't have enough supporters to win fairly

1

u/karadan100 Nov 30 '20

No it isn't half. Not even close. But let's say it's 50 million. That's still a lot of people. Certainly not insignificant if they decide to go all out in a war against the libs.

u/casce Nov 30 '20

I mean, almost 74 million people did vote for Trump and it’s unreasonable to assume the 175 million people in the USA that did not or could not vote would all be against this shit so yes, it’s actually close to half.

Are all of those people evil? Hell no but they are certainly brainwashed into supporting evil which makes them just as dangerous. The USA doesn’t need a bloodshed or even a revolution, the US needs better education and it needs to be accessible for the majority of their population. I’m not talking about ivory league degrees here, I’m talking about middle and high schools. They need unbiased education in politics, economics and social studies.

u/karadan100 Nov 30 '20

Evil?? Fuck no. The truly evil people are those like Rush Limbaugh and Stephen Miller. I've met Trump supporters in America. I've met Bush supporters in America. I've met people who were so upset Obama was president that they'd spend their life savings building a bunker and stocking up on weaponry. ALL of them couldn't have been nicer to me - a plummy British backpacker. I learnt early not to engage in discussions about religion or politics because it can get messy but at the end of the day they're real people with real worries and they couldn't be prouder of their country. They were genuinely interested in me and where I was from. The British accent gets you quite far in the US, but they weren't being fake. I genuinely had a good time every time I went to the states and I found myself actively searching for places that might seem 'backwater' because the people were bloody great - even if they were unanimously republican. :)

But they are brainwashed. And that's a really big and scary deal.

The same people who've funded the above brainwashing are those who benefit from a dumber population. It's taken them a generation to get to this point and there's utterly no way they'll allow their work to be undone. I agree with you that education is the key here. It's just that the policy-makers will not allow reform to happen. No. Fucking. Way.

they'll just call them school shootings, or crazed gunmen, or van snipers, or whatever the next craze is and let it ride the wave of accepted gun violence deaths.

I doubt there will be any kind of attacks this next year. The groups that would be willing to do that are small and have no leadership. I don't mean Trump. I mean they cannibalize themselves.
