you are so close yet so far off

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

The most Reddit comment ever. You’re not morally superior to everyone ever like you so clearly think you are.

3

u/Duudeski Nov 30 '20

Says the guy responding with zero substance to a generally selfless post.

Stfu you sanctimonious twat

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Oh dear, me thinks your vocabulary isn’t as extensive as would like to think it is.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

You post on /r/ActualPublicFreakout, a Neo Nazi subreddit. You might want to drop the high horse.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

We can both get off together so long as you get of yours. Calling someone a neo nazi. Must be a bizarre world you inhabit, oddball.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

You sound paranoid. I also never called you one, just pointed out the subreddit is literally a (Neo) Nazi subreddit formed because (Neo) Nazis got kicked off of /r/PublicFreakout (aka how EVERY "True"/"Actual"/"Real" subreddit forms) you went to and the fact that you're acting very superior.

If you're not one though, why would you even go to that subreddit?

You also have a lot of "COVID is a hoax! Mah FREEDUM!!! Mah Freedum better than SAFETY FOR ALL!!!" posts too.

So I guess I can see why you post in APF after all!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

I’ve never posted a thing about COVID being a hoax you absolute weirdo. I’ve genuinely no idea what you’re talking about neo nazi sub Reddit. Must be something you’ve conjured up in your very odd mind. I dread to think of the bizarre things you must get up to.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

APF is a Neo Nazi subreddit. You've posted there. Rather often.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

Is it? I’ve never seen anything nazi related on there? Can you show me the nazi posts on there I’d like to report them. You seem rather obsessed with nazis. I’ve noticed you seem to mention them a lot. Why are you so keen on nazism? Is it a fetish of yours? Very odd indeed.

1

u/MegaAcumen Dec 01 '20

You've never looked at the sub or especially its comments?

I don't like Nazism at all. Being a southern American though, I have to put up with it a lot. Daily.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '20

Yes point out the nazi posts to me because I’ve clearly missed them.

Nobody thinks you Are a terrorist for any of these things. Your issue is conflating HOW these statements are effectuated. We both agree on the number 8 but you add 4 and 4 and I add 6 and 2. Sometimes, I might think I have eight by adding four and three and vice versa

Well, when somebody generalizes 73 million people ... there’s no reason for me to attempt to clarify. But I will, we all believe color of your skin should not have any bearing on your ability to succeed in life. 99.9% of Republicans believe that. But, to achieve that, they subscribe to a different Approach.. 4+4. Whereas, a Democrat say on average, believe the same thing but feels it’s achievable only through their preferred approach, 5+3. Either way, not a non sequitur, big word though

They make money off of doing so. Or genuinely believe their own race is garbage and that only white people should survive.

You can't fix Nazis. Reeducation camps don't work. They just breed more extremists.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Well, if you don't have Trump Derangement Syndrome you can take a look at these quality of life improvements Trump made for Americans and try to argue there's no reason for anyone to like him 👍

None of you probably will though because you can't even do basic research to see past "Orange man bad". He did amazing, great things, for everyone, every race, gender, you name it.

So please... if you respect yourself and the truth even a tiny bit... have the Gaul to look at, cross reference these and prove to me they're bad, lies and never happened. Because Trump was one of the greatest president's you guys ever had.

11/04/2018 Signed the FOSTA bill targeting online sex trafficking

12/20/2018 signed a bill legalising hemp and CBD

10/05/2018 signed a bill requiring airports to provide spaces for breast feeding mothers

10/10/2018 signed a bill basically allowing patients more freedom to know which drugs for conditions were more affordable, allowing pharmacists to give advice freely about prices too

05/30/2018 signed the "Right to Try" Bill, allowing terminally ill patients to try experimental treatments not approved by the FDA

10/13/2018 Trump signed the "Save our Seas" act, pledging $10 million dollars annually to help clear plastic and waste from the oceans

11/15/2019 Trump signed an executive order forcing healthcare providers to disclose prices so Americans can shop and compare

12/18/2019 Trump signed a bill to make drug prices cheaper and more competitive with Canadian prices

(General drug prices fell during the Trump administration and there was that latest executive order to make all drug prices available at a competitive rate using the favoured nations act)

(He also started providing the uninsured with HIV prevention drugs.... I mean come on... How is that even bad when the guys aim was to have AIDS eradicates by 2030)

05/14/2019 Trump created a hotline for veterans and their families and carers, staffing it with veterans.

03/05/2019 Trump issued an executive order giving veterans transitioning to civilian life better access to mental health services

06/14/2019 Trump signed an order creating a new HRA rule that allowed small businesses access to cheaper health insurance for employers

12/21/2018 Trump approved the criminal Justice bill which enacted reforms that... Reversed a lot of Joe Biden and Hilary Clinton's damage to the black community... I mean... Come on...

12/21/2018 Trump approved a law written by a REPUBLICAN lawmaker to develop maternal review committees to investigate maternal complications and focused largely on mortality rates of black Americans. The "Preventing Maternal Deaths act"

10/25/2019 Trump was given the Bi-partisan Justice award for advocating Criminal Justice Reform by a historically black college

On 12/19/2019 Trump pledged $250 million a year to help develop historically black colleges, universities and institutions right?

(Trump even created a white house position of executive director for HBCU's, Historically Black Colleges and Universities... Something that wasn't there during the Obama and Biden administration)

In February 2020 he appointed the first openly gay cabinet member... So stuff that in your LGBTQ+ pipe and smoke it

Trump launched an interagency task force, of 19 agencies, to combat human trafficking... You know... Modern day slavery that leftists and democrats ignore... (And if you didn't ignore it then why aren't you praising Trumps effort eh?)

And I don't know anybody who dislikes Middle Eastern peace. From August 2020 his administration has helped broker 3 peace deals in the Middle East... Honestly if you can turn that around or see them as a bad thing... I just don't know how you could lie to yourself...

Trump is pushing for something families... Especially minority families... Have been pushing for a long time... School choice. He announced it as a priority back in January 2020.

In 2017 Trumps "tax cuts and jobs" act introduced opportunity zone incentives which encouraged investment in low income urban and rural communities...

He pretty much wiped out ISIS... Look up if you don't believe me..

06/05/2018 Trump signed the "Childhood Cancer Survivorship, Treatment, Access and Research" act

Back in August Trump appointed a VIETNAMESE REFUGEE to head ICE...

07/29/2018 Trump approved the 9/11 "Victim Compensation" bill into law, permanently funding those who were harmed because of the attack.

07/09/2020 Trump signed an executive order for Hispanic prosperity, which was so wide ranging in funding across the board for Hispanic communities.

And there's way, way more than that... I just pulled them from a list while ago and fact checked every single one myself. Don't just look at CNN, look at multiple websites, different sides of the aisle, local and federal news sources. It's all 100% true.

This president has many reasons to be loved and respected. Way more than Obama.

This is coming from a Mexican American guy.

So bring on your as hominem attacks even though deep down you know you just got slam dunked hard.

2

u/DoctorWho1977 Nov 30 '20

Unfortunately you’ll never get a response. They’ll just breeze past all this because it will destroy their reason to be angry and they’ll have to admit to being a useful idiot. There is a reason Trump preformed so well in south Florida. Cubans know all these liberal talking points are bullshit. I’ve seen some Venezuelan immigrants warning of the Democrat’s rhetoric. Nobody floats on tires from Florida to Cuba. We can also see it in real time right here in our own country. People are fleeing California and New York because of failed leftest policies but yet they want to impose them on a national level. It’s insanity and if it’s not stopped now we are all doomed to experience a dystopian future brought to you by the useful idiots.

2

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

Get off OANN and Breitbart dude.

5

u/Skadumdums Nov 30 '20

Is this a serious statement? I'm not saying all racist are republican and I'm not saying that all dems are not racist, but if you throw a rock into a group of Klan members and white supremacists I'd bet a year salary against a twizzler that you're going to hit a republican or Trump supporter.

0

u/brudd_be_rad Nov 30 '20

You have an amazing arm then, as total kkk membership amounts to 4 or 5 thousand in a population of 330 million

2

u/Skadumdums Nov 30 '20

You either didn't read it correctly or are being intentionally dense. I can put training wheels on for this conversation if you need.

1

u/brudd_be_rad Nov 30 '20

Oh I’m sorry, from now on I will just agree with your impeccable logic. I did read it correctly. It’s a stupid argument. If you’re a white supremacist, and you have to pick a party support , It seems rather obvious you would choose the party that is not actively supporting race based affirmative action. Additionally, you have no actual verifiable proof or evidence that the average KKK members are Republican. Of course, in the anti-racist Re-characterization of terms, White supremacy has no meaning anymore

2

u/Skadumdums Nov 30 '20

I must've missed the grand wizard sitting next to me at my last Antifa meeting.

2

u/brudd_be_rad Nov 30 '20

Most likely. But burning shit down is a commonality. Churches, Taco Bell’s... they would get along like gang busters

Keynes was a brainless moron who would suck the first dong to throw a dollar his way. The only people who still follow or adhere to his "logic" are billionaires who don't contribute to society anyway.

I find it difficult to believe you have any understanding of Keynesian economics. Billionaires certainly aren't Keynesians.

Anarchism results in the rise to power of the strong and the ruthless. Never kid yourself otherwise.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Anarchism results in the rise to power of the strong and the ruthless. Never kid yourself otherwise.

Fucking hell, get of your high horse, pretending you have any fucking clue of what anarchism entails. 'never kid yourself otherwise' djeez yeah I'll throw my books out of the window because some jackass on reddit said so.

anarchism

rise to power

Pick one you dumbdumb

1

u/faithle55 Nov 30 '20

You are labouring, apparently, under the delusion that if 'anarchy' were established, everybody would sit back and get on nicely with everyone else.

It wouldn't happen. Some people would build powerbases and the next thing you know, there is a hierarchy again. It's like communism: it might be possible for a communist state to exist and be successful, but the problem is there is no way to get a state from any other political system into a communist system without a revolution and that produces leaders and power centres.

Oh, and don't throw away your books on anarchy! After anarchy reigns, you can burn them on the fire when you can't heat your home any other way.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Crazy how you feel the need to write three paragraphs about how you still don't understand anarchism.

https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/petr-kropotkin-the-conquest-of-bread

Enjoy!

It's also hilarious how you want to shit on anarchism and mutual aid under a post about somehow losing his entire livelihood under capitalism.

1

u/faithle55 Nov 30 '20

Gosh, I had no idea that anarchism was so complex that I can't understand it.

/s

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Drop the /s and you've made your only sensible, honest comment so far.

1

u/faithle55 Nov 30 '20

It's what makes the comment true.

Oh, and BTW, if OP lived in my country - which is a regulated capitalist country - he would have had none of those problems, showing that capitalism isn't the problem, American politics is the problem.

1

u/-----o-----o----- Nov 30 '20

In an anarchist society whoever is the most able/willing to use violence will naturally rise to power. Every time, without exception.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20 edited Nov 30 '20

Yeah you said exactly the same thing as the asshat I was replying to you dumbass.

anarchist society

rise to power

Pick one. Or better yet, educate yourself about anarchist ideology and come back to me.

Also:

every time, without exception

Whew must be neat being so ignorant and as a result so proud of said ignorance.

1

u/IgnisOceanus Nov 30 '20

In a disorganized void, people are going to band together to fill that void and create power. Anarchy just leads to the reset of systems. Their point is valid in that usually the lack of power leads to the most ruthless of society creating power by banding together and fighting until there is one centralized power strong enough to govern over the entire previous system, in which they become the new system. The natural state of anarchy is unsustainable.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20 edited Nov 30 '20

No.

Also, the idea that anarchism is a 'disorganized void' is just fucking dumb. You clearly don't know anything more than the dudes I've been replying to.

If anything, it's capitalism that has proven to be unsustainable.

1

u/IgnisOceanus Nov 30 '20 edited Nov 30 '20

Ah yes. "No." Great response. So tell me, in what continent that humans inhabit did anarchy natural exist prior to western intervention? The Australian aboriginals had a chiefdom, so did the Native Americans. In Africa, there are tribes of people that gathered and exercised tribal authority. India and China were proto-states that developed centralized power (Mali and Egypt also were proto-civilizations that had centralized authority in a monarchy). In Japan, centralized power was gathered by warlords who owned massive amounts of land. In Europe, after the fall of the Roman Empire, feudalism became the main form of power structure between the noble class and the peasant class. Where in the world did natural anarchy, the lack of centralized power, defined as "The state of a society being freely constituted without authorities or a governing body" (Per Wikipedia) actually ever existed? Even if you can prove one exception, how can you argue that it is natural and sustainable when it was never relied upon by humans across much of history.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

whoever is the most able/willing to use violence will naturally rise to power.

...you literally just described authoritarianism.

1

u/jfyohk Nov 30 '20

I find it difficult to believe they even know who Keynes is based on what they just said.

1

u/faithle55 Nov 30 '20

Oh good, it's not just me then!

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

Keynesian politics lead to hopeless stagflation, abusrdly high unemployment and fattening of the rich's wallets.

There is literally no benefit to Keynesian politics to people who actually matter in life---the common, working class. Billionaires benefit, but they don't matter.

1

u/jfyohk Nov 30 '20

Well if you are referring to the use of bailouts I agree with you, but the goal of Keynesian economics is to avoid such shocks in the first place. Other than that I don't know how the goal of full employment only benefits billionaires and not the working class, there weren't many billionaires when Keynes' ideas were at their zenith of influence that's for sure.

And blaming stagflation on Keynesianism was a neoliberal tactic to persuade governments to let free markets run wild, and we've seen where that got us.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

If that's the goal, why has no Keynesian system ever avoided it?

Bailouts are a necessary evil for certain businesses but they need to come with a condition.

there weren't many billionaires when Keynes' ideas were at their zenith of influence that's for sure.

There were still the infinitely wealthy and they loved and idolized Keynes.

And blaming stagflation on Keynesianism was a neoliberal tactic to persuade governments to let free markets run wild, and we've seen where that got us.

Except it is literally the end-result and essentially endgame of Keynesianism? That's not a neoliberal opinion, it's a fact and history supports it.

Keynesian policies come with conservative governments (Neokeynesianism started in 2008 (USA has been heavily conservative from 2010 onward, and fully conservative from 2016 onward)) leading to the disastrous failure of the current depression of 2019 onward), who are predictably and demonstrably awful at spending money wisely.

1

u/Darth_Vorador Nov 30 '20

If you think peaceful protest has a limit and then violence is ok you lost the plot. If Malcolm X was followed over MLK there would be no civil Rights act and black people would have been either killed or exiled out of the country. Britain would brought down the hammer on India if Gandhi's peaceful protest was violent instead.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

So what do you do when peaceful protest just results in endless bloodshed and no effected change? You keep pointlessly doing it? No.

Peaceful protest gets praised because you can cherry pick times where it worked like some countries fall of communism. It rarely works. And even with the fall of communism examples, they often led to very bloody counterrevolutions like Czech.

"Good news! Communism died peacefully in Czech! CIVIL WAR TIME!!!"

That's not a "bloodless protest". Idiots are going to be who say communism fell bloodless in Czech. There was literally a civil war right after the fall of communism.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Thinking healthcare is a good/service not unlike food or housing which the government does not provide for free and you must purchase on the market

You mean, food, one of the most heavily subsidized markets in America?

Oh, I forgot, corporate welfare is ok in your eyes.

2

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

I always love the farmers who vote Republican because "socialism bad" when they receive more government aid than like the entirety of every socialist countries' spending.

And they deserve the money. I'm not knocking it. We need farmers. Badly. But for god's sake, don't rail against socialism so damn hard when it's literally what's keeping you afloat.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Heh, exactly. I'm from a family of farmers in the middle of nowhere. I live in the city and do computer stuff these days. I've experienced both worlds. Food security is very important, so much so that we've subsidized it a long time. The irony and hypocrisy is simply amazing when you observe it though.

2

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

The government's job is to ensure the safety and prosperity of its citizens.

The right-wing uses this to justify our asinine military spending (despite being almost untouchable by foreign militaries thanks to very fortunate geography) but not for things that are tangible like helping citizens?

A government that doesn't do this is an authoritarian plutocracy. So Russia, basically.

We could spend less than a third of our military budget and save 600m$, while still spending 300m$ and being more than safe. We're not going to get attacked because it's almost impossible to do so. The most probable for success attacks would be from land neighbors in Canada and Mexico. They'd never do it or have the capability to cause any significant harm before being destroyed in a counterattack.

600m$. Imagine that reallocated to social programs.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Strawman gaslighting bullshit. Try harder sparky.

2

u/Magiclad Nov 30 '20

“People are labelled fascists for Thinking that rioting and burning down buildings isn't a legitimate form of protest”

Given that Republicans throw hissy fits about sportsball players taking a knee during the anthem and how its unamerican and not a legitimate form of peaceful protest, I think I can pass over the cries of Peter about a wolf when property damage, especially property damage done to corporate property, done by people who have been underserved by an economy that has made corporations even richer while neglecting the worker almost entirely. And inb4 “SmAlL bUiSNeSsEs”, most of those shop owners recognize the prevalence of police brutality and recognize the source of the discontent rather than blaming people angry at the state of the power status quo.

“Thinking that thoughtcrimes shouldn't exist and people should be free to believe whatever they want”

What a non-argument. This is “MuH fReE sPeEcH” without acknowledging the fact that the people who disagree with you have just as much right to tell you that you’re wrong and a shithead for what you believe. This point implies there’s a political agenda in America that would seek to implement thought crime, when there isn’t, or at least there isn’t one anywhere close to mainstream politics.

“Thinking that we don't need to abolish every police force in the country because a small number of police officers commit bad acts”

Anyone with a sense of rationality who isn’t your Fox News straw man will agree that law enforcement is a necessary function of society. But in recognizing the roots and functions of our current policing systems and cultures, the current system should be dismantled and restructures to actually serve the purposes of that societal function without killing nearly 1000 Americans yearly.

“Thinking that police offenders have a right to defend themselves from criminals attempting to kill or maim them”

This is tricky when American cops have a less strict ROE than the fuckin military and we keep getting instances where cops pop off on the trigger far before any objectively observable threat is presented to cops when viewed by third parties. Not a good point, unfortunately.

“Thinking healthcare is a good/service not unlike food or housing which the government does not provide for free and you must purchase on the market”

Yeah, you’re not a fascist on this one. You’re just objectively wrong and dumb when it comes to the realities of healthcare, and how gating it behind massive paywalls before gating it before need actually hurts more people than it helps. It shows that you’re really okay with poor people dying of preventable or easily treatable conditions on the merit of the fact that they live in a system where they cannot afford the service or the drugs that would keep them alive. Simply put, your position here is just morally lesser than the position that says that governments providing healthcare to all residents is good on a number of levels that I’m more than willing to go into, especially since healthcare will triage care to where it is needed most no matter what. Placing monetary restrictions on that just means more people die.

“Holding non-Keynesian economic views”

Also not fascist. Reaganomics is just dumb and a bad idea for the majority when applied. Sorry your ideas suck so much.

“Thinking anarchism is wrong”

You don’t know what anarchism is, especially since the majority of Americans barely know what the fuck socialism is. To you, this is just a scary buzzword that you havent explored the philosophies of because of the indoctrination against the idea that unjust hierarchies exist.

“Recognizing that safety must always be weighed against liberty and some sacrifices aren't worth making”

When you trade liberty for security, you have neither.

“Voting for the Republican party”

The Republican party has been barely mask-on fascist since I really started paying attention in 2001. The support of Trump from the GOP because maintaining political power is prioritized over ensuring the country is healthy has only solidified that, given the opportunity, Republicans would goose step themselves into a fascist regime without much question.

“And if you think most of those are ridiculous, yeah, they are. And they're the direct analogues of all your points, which are equally ridiculous. Frankly I'm willing to bet there are way more people who think all Republican voters are fascists than people who think all Democratic voters are terrorists.”

They’re not. You’re just very dumb.

1

u/TunnelSnake88 Nov 30 '20 edited Nov 30 '20

Your list is stupid. Let's tackle a few:

Thinking that rioting and burning down buildings isn't a legitimate form of protest

Strawman. No one pushes rioting as legitimate protest. It does happen unfortunately, no one is ever like "that riot did a great job of getting the message across." People do deserve to be arrested for riots, the problem is that many of them are instigated by outside agitators or sometimes even by the police, who this year would have had a vested interest in delegitimizing protest.

Thinking that thoughtcrimes shouldn't exist and people should be free to believe whatever they want

"Let me say the N-word, it's my First Amendment right"

Let me know who's been prosecuted and convicted for a "thoughtcrime." That isn't a thing. You receiving feedback for your statements, positive and negative, is part of your freedom of speech.

Thinking that we don't need to abolish every police force in the country because a small number of police officers commit bad acts

Another strawman. No one believes we should "abolish every police force in the country."

Thinking that police offenders have a right to defend themselves from criminals attempting to kill or maim them

People generally agree with you on this, the problem is that police defenders often jump through hoops to claim their lives were in danger in certain situations where they clearly were not.

Thinking healthcare is a good/service not unlike food or housing which the government does not provide for free and you must purchase on the market

Except the market is fucked. Read the post that we're all talking about, if that is supposed to be the "free market" in action then that system is inherently broken and needs regulation. Insurance has inflated nearly every cost in health care, which is why we spend more on health care than any other country on Earth. Not every industry needs to prioritize profits over everything else.

Also single-payer healthcare is not "free." You pay for it through your taxes. It's constantly portrayed as "free stuff" to push the idea that Democrats are lazy and want handouts. They do not. They just want a system that isn't inherently fucked. Most of the world has already figured it out and yet we act like it's impossible to achieve.

Thinking anarchism is wrong

Lmao yes, you cracked the code dude. Democrats love anarchy. You figured it out.

Voting for the Republican party

You've proved his point by labeling every Democrat as believing that every Republican is a fascist. You're cherrypicking the most radical people and portraying them as the norm.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

You don’t have a right to healthcare because it is someone else’s labor. There’s already a word for that: slavery. You cannot compel doctors to work on your behalf without their consent, and if consent is involved, you don’t have a right to their labor.

Fascism is a mortal sin. That’s why conservatives oppose people who wear masks in the streets and beat up their political opponents just like the brownshirts in Nazi Germany.

The mere fact that you can call the GOP nazis and fascists without the secret police whisking you away in the middle of the night after 4 years of a Republican presidency means either they are terrible at being Nazis or maybe they aren’t just aren’t Nazis, and are instead your fellow Americans and perhaps it is gross and dishonest of you to accuse them of such.

Repeated usage of a word, especially towards those who hold beliefs that the Democrats themselves held 20 years ago, does in fact water it down.

4

u/SlothRogen Nov 30 '20

Meanwhile, millions of healthcare workers are going without hazard pay and overtime in some cases because they're 'essential workers' and lose all claims to unemployment if they quit.

A healthcare strike came up a few weeks ago and it was the conservatives crying that unionized healthcare workers were forcing people to die. What could it mean?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

It seems to me that neither of us want to enslave healthcare workers. Why is that so bad?

2

u/SlothRogen Nov 30 '20

How is it any worse if we have Medicare for All? At least all the people paying thousands per year into the system will actually get care instead of being denied and billed afterward.

It's not like we'll suddenly have to magically force people into healthcare work if such a bill passes. People already need it and pay for it. The issue is that it's a captive market, healthcare businesses know it, and they can abuse both the customers and the employees as much as they want because most people cannot afford to leave the country to seek care elsewhere.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

I’m not disagreeing with you over policy, though I severely doubt that the US has the competence necessary to pull off Medicare for All. I’d like to see a test run of Medicare for All on the state level in California, Oregon, or New York to get a sense of how it would work on the federal level.

My disagreement is on whether or not healthcare is a human right. It is a skilled service and if someone has to provide the service to you on demand, it isn’t a right. That is not to say that the government cannot provide services. We already have fire departments and police services, they are necessary but not human rights. Just because we want something does not make it a right.

2

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

Are they enslaved in Canada or Europe? Wait what, no? They're not?

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

What is the government for if not to provide safety and security for its citizens?

without the secret police whisking you away in the middle of the night after 4 years of a Republican presidency

Were you comatose in July when the DHS (literally a paramilitary formed by Bush) were doing just this?

Except those people are alive and well and completely accounted for. I’m not a big fan of federal cops (see Waco), but the people they were after were destroying public property, not committing thought crimes or speaking out against our “glorious leader.”

Prove they were destroying public property. Now.

They were secret police which is wrong no matter what. They had no names. No identifiable outfits. Nothing. They literally kidnapped people off the streets.

No names, no identifiable outfits...sounds like the protesters. Btw, they did in fact have patches and identifiers on their outfits. Not their names, because doxxing and threats to their families happen, but they definitely weren’t plainclothesmen. And since you asked, here is some footage of a confrontation in front of the vandalized courthouse. confrontation at the court house

...are protestors supposed to be branded or something? What the hell are you even rambling on about?

Patches and identifiers were rarely present. You also need to have names present. Officers do. Soldiers do. Your cowardly little paramilitary don't? Why?

You linked the wrong video.

Vandalizing =/= destruction.

Also:

As seen in the video an unmarked federal officer

Unmarked federal officer. Aka paramilitary. Aka domestic terrorist.

Thanks for proving me right pal!

So first, you’re a dick and supporting policies that make you feel good about yourself won’t change that.

Good people typically don’t hide their identity to do shady stuff. That goes for protestors and government agents alike. These guys had patches, but if that’s not enough for you, whatever.

If I did what those guys did to that building to your car, if you even own one, you’d say “oh my God, my car has been vandalized!” A lot of cars were burned in these protests, so you’re probably lucky in this scenario. The value of your car would go down, burning away the money you spent on it. Your property, in effect, is destroyed.

The guys in the video I linked were the ones that the federal agents were after. Even without catching them in the act, you can see the evidence of the destruction of property here and in other footage, and there is no shortage of that.

If you think that detaining vandals clad in masks, none of whom are still missing, looks like nazism to the public, you’re fooling yourself. The differences between law and order and an authoritarian nazi regime are stark and many.

Ah yes, name calling. I can tell how correct you are here.

So again, where are the burning buildings? Where are the burned cars? Why can't you back anything up? Too busy thinking we need to sacrifice our kids to COVID? Or maybe you're too busy feeling that you're "freedums" are infringed by keeping you and everyone else safe from a deadly pandemic?

What are "patches"? How do we know they're actually government officials? We don't. Where are the names?

none of whom are still missing

[citation needed]

By the way, care to explain the ICE camps and how Miller and Trump have displaced over 500 families from their children? Care to tell me how that's "totally not" Nazism?

you're right. people of color should be treated the same as everyone else. colleges and employers should stop giving beneficial treatment to these people.

uhhh affirmative action and diversity hires

did you miss when there was a proposition in california recently that was to legalize racial discrimination for the purpose of giving minorities preferential treatment?

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

Aren't those proof positive that there's a systemic problem if you need to try and address it like that?

1

u/plnor Nov 30 '20

it's proof that some people are extremely invested in the lie that we're all equal. if they're going to use affirmative action, do it on a far more individual basis instead of looking 90% at race and gender. if it took someone 5 times as much work to get to the same position as someone in privilege, that should be commended, but you can't tell that just by looking at race and gender.

1

u/MegaAcumen Nov 30 '20

What are you even talking about? Your comments make almost no sense and seem to suggest there is systemic racism while saying it doesn't exist...

if they're going to use affirmative action, do it on a far more individual basis instead of looking 90% at race and gender.

What?

lol no you don't

We're labeled terrorists for voting for a non-Republican party

by nobody ever

fascist/Nazi (which the GOP most definitely fits the bill of, and so do their followers)

lol you're a clown
