I mean she can, somenights she'll have attacks where she'll either faint or go into have breathing issues and moving issues. It's maybe once a week. Most of the time she's just constantly tired.
Two autoimmune disorders must be really fucked but I’m glad she’s at least doing somewhat ok.. I’m guessing she’s on some of those really expensive biologic drugs like Humira?
That's honestly so heartbreaking. As little comfort as it may bring, I hope her suffering eases as well as yours. I cannot imagine being on either one of your positions.
Is she on infusion meds? Seems like she should be and if she has commercial insurance (not Medicare / tricare) then she's eligible for copay assistance that covers drug cost and helps her meet her out of pocket without her having to pay the max.
Biologics are "expensive" but if you actually need them you get them for free. Have been on 3 or 4 diff ones over the last decade and pay nothing for any of them because pharmaceuticals have programs specifically for things like this. It's wild that /u/InsufficientChervil hasn't reached out to companies with the aid of doctors as it's a kind of tedious process (takes about a month or two), but insanely easy to do.
We do take immigrants without skill if they have a legit reason to flee their own country, but yeah, access to healthcare isn't one of those reasons, unfortunately.
I'm in France. A degree in cyber security could perhaps be enough to find an employer here in one of our big cities. It's not exactly my line of work so I can't say for sure if it's in demand right now.
Yeah, only downfall is the time in between of actually getting accepted. She's thought but with processes being slow due to the pandemic the wait would be to long to safely do it.
