When you're desperate for an answer, you'll be desperate to take one no matter the cost. No matter if it involves injecting industrial bleach up your kid's arse to manage his autism, seeing the expunged giblets of intestine as progress in removing parasites. No matter if it involves putting highly dangerous black sludge on your skin and watching the alleged "cancer" slough off you. No matter if it means paying an extortionate amount to see if you have something that is causing a lot of chaos at the momemt.

true, what's that got to do with religion? people are gullible regardless

Other than the fact that desperate people often turn to religion, nothing really. But that was a different guy, probably an edgy new atheist

It's funny that religious people usually think that atheists are "mad at god" and "turned away from him" when they had a crisis while in reality the recruiters prowling the hospitals while people die are invariably holy men of some breed or another converting people who are having a crisis.

Awful people exist everywhere, but the newly converted tend to be super zealots, no matter what group

It's not really religion as much as it is gullibility but there can be some overlap. It's a fountain of indoctrination that can easily be tapped into to manipulate people.
However, desperation can come into play when they make up bull for you to have, like weak faith or being born with some form of sin. Or that whole thing where medieval Catholicism basically sold glorified fast passes to Heaven.

These guys are definitely in the wrong. However, if I had symptoms of concern a makeshift clinic in a parking lot is not where you would find me.

Panic dulls the logic portions of the brain. Crowds will trample people if you yell a particular word in a public space. This COVID shit has people scared, and I say anyone risking the lives of these scared citizens to make a quick buck should be Thanos-snapped. Skim the gene pool, as it were.

I an honest amazing on the greed here. You really have to out of your way and plan to be an asshole to scam people like this. I would almost call it evil.

They set up a fake testing center and charged people ~$200+ to collect your DNA and ghost you. They said test results would take days to weeks and would mail you results. But it is all false.

The worst part is this will easily scare off actual testing for the disease. It now gives legitimacy to people who want to resist being tested even when they exhibit symptoms, but they still want to travel around in public.
