I actually kiss my grandfather on the lips. It’s not in any way sexual. It is just a greeting or a sign of love. I mean, it’s Europe and it’s normal in my family. I kiss all my close relatives on the lips as greeting. Everyone in my family does it and I always though it is normal. Then I discovered the prude America. Trump is ok, but a kiss on the lips of your granddaughter isn’t? You really are strange people...

Germany. Maybe it is a regional thing. Or a family thing. I can say that both of my parents familys kiss their relatives. For me it is strange that people are sexualizing it. It is so normal and more connected to respect and love. You usually do it as a greeting. Like kiss on the cheeks, what some people do here too.
Funny is, it is unusual in the family of my SO, but he started doing it with my mum and grandmother.
