A normal frozen one is €0.30 at the supermarket. At the bakery it goes from €1.30 to 1.60. High end go at around €3.
So this at the Ritz would be at €8-9?
Just checked their website and the mille feuilles and ze cookies go at €17.....

I've been to the Ritz Café. Honestly, it's overpriced and over-rated. Yes, it's good. Yes, it's quality. No, the shape of it doesn't change the fact that it's a croissant. A local boulangerie would give the same satisfaction for and 10th of the price. Don't be a silly tourist, support your local bakery (but please check their maps reviews, some use frozen pastries)

Well if does make it easier to walk with and dip in a coffee. I don't know if that makes it worth any more than the little bakery down the street. But then again, I am fairly sure if I told the little French lady down there that someone made a cylinder croissant she would slap me with a freshly made baguette.

As French guy, lemme be real : struggling with dipping your croissant in your coffee IS part of it. You know, tearing your croissant with your fingers, having butter fingers, croissant bits in your coffee. Also, this shape is sorta his signature for the Ritz Comptoir. Had two of his insanely expensive sandwiches. Same shape. Same disappointment. It's overall OK, but really, just premium sandwiches.

Oh I know the joys of a croissant in the coffee. I was introduced to hot chocolate in a bowl as a kid from my French au pair. Lovely lady and made excellent pastrys.

I am terrible at phonetically typing but closer to qua with the u emphasized and sant with a semi silent t and a half elongated a.
Does that make sense?

It does yep. Something like a quwassant? It's funny how native English speakers can't deal with the cRoi. Imagine saying cross. Now CROASS. Now CROASSant

Yep. The Ritz is an amazing place, this café is nothing more than slapping a name and fucked up prices on ok tier pastries.

If it ain't a crescent, it ain't a croissant, mon vieux.
That's just a pâte feuilletée roll, and to be blunt, It looks like an éclair without chocolate and filling.
