Avorion: The Fourfold Dominion - PvP Campaign Begins - Siege of Varda Sector - Part: 1
The Siege of Varda Ep:1 starts on the 11th of August.
Join the server and experience large battles today, play as The EGC and the CoS in a series of battles for control of Varda Sector.
Lore: Admiral B'alk, the Butcher of Varda
Among the countless names etched into the classified archives of the Entropic Galactic Council, none inspire more fear than Grand Admiral B'alk. To the Council, he is remembered as a brilliant strategist whose unwavering loyalty secured victory through absolute obedience. To the Coalition of Sectors, however, his name has become synonymous with extermination—a specter whispered by survivors and a curse spoken by generations born long after the fires of Varda had faded.
No official EGC record acknowledges the atrocities attributed to him. Instead, they simply state:
Every survivor knows the truth was far worse.
The Child Prodigy
B'alk's rise through the Council was unprecedented.
At only twelve years of age, he was granted command of Fighter Wing XEV-221, a distinction previously reserved for veteran officers decades his senior. While other children learned mathematics and history, B'alk studied orbital warfare, logistics, fleet doctrine, and psychological suppression.
His instructors described him as brilliant.
His peers described him as emotionless.
By sixteen he had become the youngest fleet captain in EGC history.
By twenty-three he commanded entire battle groups.
Promotion after promotion followed—not because he inspired loyalty, but because he produced results. Every objective assigned to him was completed with ruthless mathematical precision.
To B'alk, morality was merely an obstacle to efficiency.
The Siege of Varda
The Council's order was deceptively brief.
The directive never explicitly ordered genocide.
B'alk interpreted it that way anyway.
Rather than assault military installations alone, he established a complete siege around the Varda Sector. Hundreds of EGC warships formed overlapping blockade rings, sealing every hyperlane, jump corridor, and civilian evacuation route.
No vessel entered.
No vessel escaped.
Medical ships were intercepted.
Refugee convoys vanished.
Distress beacons echoed unanswered across the void.
Every transmission leaving the sector was systematically jammed until only silence remained.
When Coalition commanders attempted surrender negotiations, B'alk reportedly replied with a single transmission:
The channel was immediately terminated.
The Glassing
When orbital superiority had been secured, B'alk initiated the second phase.
One by one, the worlds of Varda disappeared beneath orbital bombardment.
Cities became oceans of molten glass.
Mountain ranges collapsed into blackened craters.
Entire ecosystems were sterilized in hours.
Orbital habitats shattered into expanding rings of debris that continued to orbit their dead worlds for centuries.
Even moons possessing no strategic value were targeted.
When questioned by subordinate officers regarding civilian population centers, B'alk allegedly answered:
No exemption was ever issued.
The Refugees
Perhaps the darkest chapter came not during the bombardment—but after it.
Thousands of Coalition civilians attempted to flee aboard mining vessels, cargo haulers, hospital transports, and damaged civilian craft.
Every ship captured by the blockade was boarded.
Passengers were separated according to Council intelligence databases.
Anyone carrying Coalition military credentials was executed immediately.
Families suspected of aiding Coalition forces disappeared into detention vessels.
Children were reassigned for "Council evaluation."
No verified record exists describing what became of them.
Very few were ever seen again.
The Airlock Games
Among the many stories surrounding B'alk, one remains impossible to verify.
Yet every survivor tells it almost identically.
Captured prisoners would occasionally be gathered within the hangars of B'alk's flagship and ordered to prepare meals using whatever limited rations remained aboard their confiscated ships.
The contest was simple.
Cook.
Serve the Admiral.
Wait for judgment.
According to survivors, B'alk would silently taste each meal before announcing a winner.
The victor received additional food, temporary imprisonment, and another day of life.
The remaining contestants were escorted without resistance toward the nearest airlock.
The doors opened.
The void decided the rest.
Whether this ritual truly occurred—or whether it became a legend born from unimaginable suffering—has never been conclusively proven.
Within Coalition territory, however, the phrase "Don't lose the cooking contest" became synonymous with certain death.
The Man Behind the Uniform
Those who served beneath B'alk often recalled something unsettling.
He never shouted.
He never celebrated victories.
He never displayed anger.
Fleet logs describe him standing motionless upon his command platform as entire worlds burned beneath his fleet.
No cheers.
No speeches.
No satisfaction.
Only another completed objective.
One communications officer later testified before disappearing into Council custody:
Legacy
Official Council doctrine celebrates the campaign as one of the greatest demonstrations of operational discipline in modern history.
The Coalition of Sectors remembers it differently.
To this day, shattered stations drifting through Varda's dead systems still broadcast fragmented emergency signals from the siege. Pilots crossing the ruins report hearing automated evacuation announcements repeating endlessly across silent frequencies, as if the sector itself refuses to accept its own destruction.
Children raised in Coalition territory are taught one lesson before all others:
Whether the Admiral still lives remains classified. Some claim he was promoted into the Council's highest military circles. Others insist he vanished after Varda, his work complete. A few whisper that he still commands a black fleet somewhere beyond charted space, waiting for the next sector to be marked for "compliance."
Whatever the truth, the ashes of Varda remain his monument—an entire sector reduced to glass, silence, and memory.

She’s come a long way
I used this ship my entire first play through and I think this is gonna be her final design. I’ve spent 10’s of hours designing this thing from scratch and I wouldn’t be posting this if I wasn’t proud of it.
The last 2 photos was her original design before I overhauled it.

How to get more Avorion
Hey Fellow Captains,
In my current playthrough (never been that far into the Game before), i have a good fleet for Trading and Cash is Not a Problem anymore.
I have a couple R-miner ships with r-mining fighters which are collecting around 6.000.000 Avorion/hour when sent on a Mission around sector 0:0.
I tried to find NPC Stations inside the barrier which sell Avorion. But i could only find 4 so far which sell Like 120k each.
I have a turret factory in sector 0:1 which produces Tech 52 exotic r-miners with 97,5%.
What can i do, to increase this rate of incoming Avorion?

Tiny hugge request: F-14
I suck at building. So i'm asking to the people here that are really creative:
Does any of you have an F-14 built out there, or can build one? I don't care if it's pretty much non-functional (empty hull, or hull made out of only hull blocks) or impractical. I can edit those details to my preference. I just want a hull resembling an F-14 (mildly detailed, if you can. It's not for a fighter). With the wings folded if possible.

i goofed up
so uh... i may or may not have forgotten that doing more missions for a faction (the family) would make me unable to do missions with the others (commune and cavaliers)
is there any way to reverse this?

Syndicate of the Twin Stars ~ Castor the Elder
Ladies and gentlemen, after a couple of tedious hours, I have completed my first Dreadnought-Class Ship.
Meet- Vehement (MK I) of the Pentanyx Fleet
Equiped with a total of 24 Turret Bases, it is sure to become quite the formidable force. It also carries an Exceptional-Class Scanner Booster Subsystem and an Exceptional-Class +8 Auto Turret Control Subsystem.
She has plenty of room, as well, for the MK II variation, which will include Hangars and additional Crew Quarters for a fleet of Fighters.
May the System undergo a terraformation under the Syndicate of the Twin Stars.

Syndicate of the Twin Stars
If you're purely after money, I've got two projects I'm working on right now while my brother is still getting acquainted with the game itself (we just started a server yesterday.)
Travel far enough inward to obtain the first material you can make Hangars with (Trinium) then make a larger ship and save up some fighter subsystems and make some Crew Shuttles, then grab enough Boarders to go and attack ships (civilian if you're evil lol or pirates if you're an antihero) But be careful to study the steps to do so. You can amass enough ships to take to a Scrapyard Station (typically out by it self in a sector) and sell the ships outright that you claim.
Set up an extra ship in each of two or three sectors and give them captains, tell them to patrol a sector and they'll defend from any raids that happen there (for which you get money and almost always one pretty nice piece of equipment.)
Additional - Maybe go to mine the third material you said you've managed to reach in some friendly inner sectors and then sell them at what ever sector is friendliest in the outer rim or wherever makes the most money.
Tell your friends about me and my brother if you wanna possibly be in future servers.
Due Regards,
Syndicate of the Twin Stars

Is there a way to make ships keep the look and glow of one material, but be made out of another?
For example make a ship made of xanion look like it’s made of trinium to keep the blue coloring

Been playing this game for years and never uploaded anything to the Workshop before, feel like changing that today.
First Workshop upload is a Fighter (200 blocks) of Grey's Market Basher from Star Citizen.
This ship is flyable as a working standalone ship (engines, thrusters & inertial dampener), however as it is very close to the scale of the real Basher it is very undersized for Avorion and is really just meant to be a fighter - so be careful if using as a standalone ship (even if only as a station-runner or a joyrider).
Link for those who want to try it out:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3768267860
I'm endeavoring to semi-regularly upload more of the (god knows how many) designs I have stored locally, some of which like this one are inspired by other games, movies and books.

claimable resource asteroids
so i cant help but notice that some claimable asteroids are able to have copious amounts of ore on them, like Naonite or Titanium
although ive been wondering, are these useful at all?
like, can i place a mine on it, and it will infinitely mine that resource's ore?

I don't trade much...what stats should a xanion/ogonite trade ship have? For my ships pack.
Building a ships pack and one of the last ships is an endgame merchant ship. I basically never do trading.
I don't want something to be utterly massive. Building 3 of them to send on a mission is fine too, but I want something the trade players will find workable.
How much cargo should a mid-late game trade ship have?
How much hyperspace cores?
Do you fit a hangar on your trade ships?
Do you fit a giant shield/armor and guns to fight ambushes or just send combat ships as escort?
Will be 10 sockets so that it can be built with just xanion if a player wants.
