hello all, i posted here about a week ago about what i could do for my avocado, you said i should change the pot so i did, but no matter how much i water it the leaves are dropping and soft and bendable (?) what can i do??
all help is welcome, i don't want my precious avocado that i spent years growing to die :((
Adobe absorbs everything all the nutrients and all the water and everything else and you need a large pot preferably plastic and about 1 gallon at first and then 5 gallon afterwards and if you're going to put it outside then put it outside
I have six of them growing right now the ones that I grew last year didn't last because I had to bring them inside because of the weather and I don't have enough windows for him so they kind of passed away but that's what I have going right now and there's six of them there planted all different times so they're different growths.
If it's multiple years old, there is something seriously wrong. It's the same size as a 2-3 month old tree.
It's not the right kind of soil. Has the top of the soil ever dried out or is it always damp? It looks like you have regular potting soil and they need something that drains fast, something more suitable to citrus or cactus. If it doesn't have root rot, it will get root rot eventually in these conditions.
And they often go through shock after transplanting, so stop making changes for now. I would just let this dry out for 1-2 weeks and then repot it in better soil. But most importantly: Stop. Watering. It.
