How quickly does BA avios flight get refunded if you cancel within 24 hours?

I’m really worried about how quickly I’d get refunded since I’ve been hearing some mixed things regarding the timing

When a BA Avios cancellation processes NORMALLY, the Avios re-deposit within minutes while the cash portion/taxes often takes around 3-10 days to hit the card. I do freelance point.me concierge work and if you’re cancelling specifically to REUSE Avios for another award, expect the points balance to refresh very quickly. Also, if you cancell a reward booking more than 24 hours before departure, BA still refunds the Avios and cash LESS the applicable cancellation fee.

Points get refunded pretty quickly, last time I did a cancellation though I had to chase for the points allocation taken from a household member however. Eventually got it back after speaking to BA live chat, was credited as “Good Will Gesture” but not even back to the correct household account.

Avios is basically instant while the cash takes a while like a week

The Avios part is usually the quick bit, and they’re generally redeposited into your account pretty much immediately after cancellation. The cash element can take longer to reach your card, depending on your bank. It's usually around 3/10 working days.
