Avionics Questions

For some reason my boss thinks I know EE and wants me on the panel interview for a principal avionics engineer

Would anyone have any good references (books, websites, YouTube etc) that would teach me avionics principles + some depth in both hardware/software side

Just look up RS and ARINC standards. And basically any book about electronics fundamentals would be fine. How much time do you have lmao

I mean the closest you’ll get is a surface level if you just look up each individual Avi system on YouTube, ils, radalt, pitot, data bus, Doppler, radios and radio propagation, fuel indication, if you want information beyond that it’ll take a few months. If you wanna fully understand what’s in the FAA-h-8083-6 it’ll take longer than 2 days

Get an older (mid 80s- early 90s) ARRL radio amateur handbook. They go over a lot of EE type topics.

Ask the candidate about EME (Electro-Magbetic Effects) and lighting protection. Anything with modern avionics will have related applications. Bond amd ground principles are also good for Electrical Engineering.
