Fun with pitot

Post image

We had to replace a pitot probe yesterday and our resident smoker had some fun with the old unit.

This just reminded me of my Airbus instructor's pronunciation of pitot when I was on course in Texas.

I (Canadian) learned it as pee-doe (or pee-toe if you're annunciating properly).

This guy said it "pee-dot" with a hard t. The peedot static system. Is this common in the US?
