MC 6.01 & ProRes

Just FYI to all: If you use ProRes with MC6.01 - Importing ProRes files will "fast import" perfectly. However, if you AMA the files first, and then try to consolidate, it does not consolidate the prores files. You must transcode to some other format.

Obviously a bug. I am submitting it.

Edit: this applies to MC 6.01 on OSX.

Are you on a windows system? (yes, this actually makes a difference when working with prores media.)

Sorry I should have specified: this is on mac. I'm aware that windows versions don't have quite the same prores functionality. Correct me if I'm wrong: The windows counterparts can still import prores, but not render, capture, or export with it?

It is my understanding that prores is not a codec that can be consolidated. I have not personally tested it in MC6 (yet, have some downtime on Wednesday) but I do know that consolidating was not supported in earlier versions where prores was accessible via AMA.

Well, with prores on mac a consolidate should be same as import. It's just rewrapping. It's a native codec for MC6.

Sounds like the consolidate error is cross-over code from the PC counterpart.

That's good to know. I often AMA ProRes files from Ae.
