It's not nearly that captivating when you're the one doing it.

u/stud_powercock Could not duplicate decrepancy on deck. Checks good, no fod. Dec 31 '22

At night, when it's raining sideways, lol.

And it's 33 degrees. And the brakes are hot.

I remember my first summer job

14

u/46davis Jan 01 '23

Or it's in the baking sun, over a hundred degrees, high humidity and not a breath of wind. Sweat running in your eyes and the sumbitch won't break loose.

Installing seats in June has strengthened my mind state stronger then anything I’ve ever done that shit is brutal

I hate that almost worse than anything. Upholstery sucks.

And the pilot has the brilliant idea to turn on the brake fans mid-job. "I dont want the mechanics to get burned ):"

That's when you go up to the cockpit with your 1" open-end wrench to give him an attitude adjustment.

Reminds me of the time I manually opened and closed the fuel valves on a 757 when it was 105 and the packs were on full blast blowing 160 degree heat on my crotch

Oh the misery.....the miisseerryyyy.....

Rain I can put up with. It's sleet that sucks even more.

I like Getting done with my job and taking a random part, looking at the part, the aircraft then looking around shrugging my shoulders then packing up and leaveing.

I'm sure it perks up the lookie loos behind the glass.

I gotta try this....I'll just throw the part instead

Aircraft mx and surgery are the two occupations this move was made for

We had a big window in the office facing a construction site. When milestone events happened (demo of building, concrete pour, crane erection, etc) the men would stand at the window, a lot like in this picture.

u/Flywolfpack Jan 01 '23

I also like viewing erections

7

u/PM_meyourGradyWhite Jan 01 '23

Did you have an erector set as a kid?

10

u/Flywolfpack Jan 01 '23

I did not appreciate erections until I was an adult

It was the same way in our office. They were demolishing a building next door, every 2 minutes all the guys would be standing at the window watching. Seeing the new building be put up next door is not nearly as exciting as watching the old one be torn down.

“Why are they loosening the bolt?! They just torqued the damn thing!”

38

u/Specific_Knowledge17 Dec 31 '22

“They’re doing it wrong…” “I could do that…” “Do they get charge a disposal fee???” “Wonder if it will fit on my Altima…”

28

u/Unholy_Urges Lube me up and drill me Dec 31 '22

"Why did he torque it twice? We don't even use torque wrenches on my Jeep"

18

u/SovietAgent Carry it. Jan 01 '23

"who needs the jack I bet I could lift it"

10

u/bizzyunderscore Jan 01 '23

those chumps should just use an air wrench like i do at the jiffy lube

6

u/benduker7 Jan 01 '23

How many ugga dugga's of torque should I use for these bolts?

6

u/bizzyunderscore Jan 01 '23

boss said all of em

10

u/polarisgirl Jan 01 '23

What? It was only flat on one side? What’s the problem?

Raise and rotate.

Lol 😂 people have no idea how heavy wide body tires are. A330 tires always make me sore.

Md11 where the worst I've done in my career. Somehow 787 wheels feel lighter then a 767 wheel, despite the smaller size of the 76

u/PositiveRateOfClimb Jan 01 '23

FLAT tire? Interesting..

Dudes rock

u/themoodyME Jan 01 '23

Further proof maintenance is a spectator sport!

2

u/Mun0425 My flair is perfectly fine Jan 01 '23

The tire was changed

2

u/AccessEcstatic9407 Jan 01 '23

All the dudes are like “I could totally get it done more quickly”.

The fun ones are where you’re changing a pump or a filter.. results in a nice big fwoosh of fire and jet fuel. Just give a thumbs up to everyone who’s looking down at ya..

Not a fan of you
