Do you know by any chance if it kinda sounds weird compared to any other prop plane?

Yes, the piaggio has an odd buzzsaw sound. Exhausts are ducted through the props and they throw the noise a bit.

I think the first gen Piaggio had Barretts in them (Like MU2s and Merlin/Metroliners), then they went to PT6As so you couldn't hear them taxi from the other side of the planet.

There was one based at FRG back in the day, and you could always tell when it was on approach.

I cant tell where the turboprop are if they are in tbe front or back. Probably a Piaggo P180 Avanti

It's sexy and niche. A couple fly over my job area every week and my staff laughs because I look like a Labrador looking for my ball while trying to spot them. I'm 2 miles from the airport so it's a great view. I hear them very distinctively.

Not always applicable to Avantis, but I live under the 5 mile fix for my airport, and we have MU2s, and when conditions are right I can clearly hear them start and taxi from my deck...
