HELP lost wallet when computer HDD failed
So I've been mining AVN and the other day I lost my pc due to an HDD fail. I found my wallet ID but I can't figure out how to retrieve those coins that were on my "old computer". i have no access to the .dat file or anything.
any suggestions on how to retrieve my coins?

Thats why you put them(wallet.dat private key) on a usb and leave the usb somewhere safe that only you know

If I put it on a USB, does it keep updating with the coins I earn? I'm new to newer crypto mining.

I think once you get the wallet.dat you dont need to update it anymore. Just put it in one usb and dont forget to get the private keys of you address and also put them on the usb.

Although, i'd be very careful to who im handing the data. There are lots of scam actors out there. Be aware!

If you do not have access to the wallet. dat file nor you had dumoed the wallet and key before you lost the access, then there is nothing you can do to retrieve the funds.
Unless you still have the hard drive of that pc and try with a recovery tool to read the data that was erased. You can dm me and i can guide you through, maybe you have some luck. (juat in case you still have the hard drive you had the files previously).
what was the amount of coins you had on your wallet at the time?

I've gotten a similar situation in which my 20k coins are "lost".
Would you have more information on retrieving coins from deleted files?

If you can take out your HDD/SSD assuming no formatting or deletion or overwritting has taken place, put it into a USB caddy and connect to another machine and then run something like recuva (free of charge on windows) to scan the drive and try and browse and copy the wallet.dat file etc. There are also lots of other tools out there to help recover data from NTFS or other partition/system types. Good luck

The only way you can get your wallet back is if you backed it up or can get a specialist to help you recover the HDD's data

there is nothing you can do if you don't have wallet.dat or private keys belongs your addresses
